  • Publication number: 20230111162
Abstract: A thrust unit for a propulsion device includes a thrust engine, arranged to provide a thrust force oriented in a direction so as to provide substantially vertical take-off and landing capability, and a deflector assembly comprising a pair of deflecting elements arranged to selectively divert the ejected fluid and movably mounted in the fluid outlet path. • Publication number: 20230094788
Abstract: The invention relates to a propulsion device comprising a platform, a thrust unit, support means arranged to hold and support the thrust unit, integrally cooperating with the platform via one or more suitable mechanical connections, projecting means, integrally cooperating via suitable mechanical connections with the platform, a central foot, passing through the centre of inertia of the propulsion device and integrally cooperating via a suitable mechanical connection at its proximal end with the platform. In order to enable a landing of said propulsion device on receiving surfaces having relatively small dimensions with respect to the propulsion device and/or moving surfaces, the projecting means and the central foot are mutually arranged so that the central foot can provide the first contact between the device and a surface receiving the device.

  • Publication number: 20200156786
Abstract: A propulsion device includes a platform with a pair of elbowed tubular thrust nozzles respectively located on opposite sides of the platform. An input end of each nozzle is mounted to the platform and rotatable about a transverse axis that is normal to a longitudinal axis of the platform, and is connected to a source of pressurized fluid. A pair of actuators are respectively connected to the tubular nozzles to rotate the nozzles around the transverse axis and thereby change the orientation of output ends of the nozzles relative to the platform. A processor controls the position of the platform by activating the actuators to rotate the nozzles, and thereby change the direction of thrust emitted by the pressurized fluid at the output ends of the nozzles.

  • Patent number: 9168991
Abstract: The invention relates to a Motorized Water Vehicle (MWV) adapted so as to operate as a fluid-compression station in addition to the primary transport function thereof. Such an MWV can thus supply compressed fluid to a third device. In a preferred and non-exhaustive manner, such an MWV can supply a passenger propulsion device allowing the latter to move through the air or through a fluid. The invention thus preferably relates to a propulsion system in which a remote station is a motorized water vehicle adapted such as to engage with a propulsion device.

  • Publication number: 20140103165
Abstract: To improve the maneuverability and stability of a jet-pack, the thrust of the nozzles is varied relative to one another, through a suitable valve arrangement. The ability to reduce the pressure on one side of the jet-pack enables much more flexible turns to be accomplished, and requires much less effort on the part of the passenger. Actuators, such as piston-cylinder arrangements, control the positioning of the nozzles and thereby assist the passenger in the piloting of the jet-pack. To further increase maneuverability, additional nozzles can be incorporated into the jet-pack to control the forward and backward tilt of the device, to more easily accomplish hovering, forward movement and backward movement.
