    Abstract: Chloroethyl, chloropropyl, and other chlorine-substituted chloroformates are manufactured by reaction of phosgene with appropriate epoxide compounds, in a new manner, that results in very high yields of product in a continuous process. The process requires the use of activated carbon as a stationary catalyst, a circulating load of pre-formed product as diluent, and operating temperatures in the range of 60.degree. to 125.degree. C. preferably 75.degree. to 115.degree. C.

    Abstract: The quality of dialkyl dithiophosphates as flotation promoters is improved by addition to the neutralized acid of small quantities of a trialkyl amine. More important, promoters thus stabilized exhibit markedly increased storage life and substantially no tendency to corrode steel. Shipping and storage of these products is thus facilitated.

  • Flotation of copper sulfide ores with improved thionocarbamates

    Abstract: High-purity dialkyl thionocarbamates are economically produced by reacting suitable xanthates with alkyl amines in the presence of a dissolved catalyst. Nickel and palladium salts are preferred catalysts. Thionocarbamates produced by the method of the invention are a desirable flotation reagent for certain refractory copper sulfide ores.
