  • Patent number: 4268784
Abstract: In a control method wherein a control signal is generated in response to the deviation of a process variable signal from a setpoint signal and the time integral over this deviation, the windup of the respective controller is prevented by automatically modifying this deviation by a signal representative of the difference between the control signal and the process control signal such as to reduce the deviation of the process variable signal from the setpoint signal by an amount representative of the difference mentioned.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 20, 1978
Date of Patent: May 19, 1981
    Assignee: Phillips Petroleum Company
    Inventor: Franklin D. Ganaway
  • Patent number: 4069413
Abstract: In the measurement of a variable process parameter and control of the process in response thereto, the time derivative of a second order or higher lagged process measurement signal is utilized to provide predictive capability in generating a process variable signal, in generating a process control signal, and in controlling the process in response to the measured parameter. The system is particularly well adapted to control of a non-self-regulating process.
