  • Patent number: 5729942
Abstract: A stack of expanded foam blocks form a wall and define interconnected vertical and horizontal internal cavities which receive reinforcing rods, and concrete is pumped into the cavities to form an internal grid of reinforced concrete posts and beams. A set of opposing frame sections or shells clamp the blocks around a rough window or door opening and cooperate to define a frame cavity which receives the concrete pumped into the internal cavities to form a concrete window or door frame integrally connected to the concrete grid. In one embodiment, the opposing window frame shells remain with the wall and form a smooth seat for a window unit, and in another embodiment, the window or door shells are removed from the wall to form a concrete seat for the window or door unit.

  • Patent number: 4580696
Abstract: A retainer and dispenser for paper-like containers or cups in which french fried potatoes or the like are served in a fast-food type of establishment. The retainer and dispenser comprises a housing adapted to be supported in substantially vertical orientation. The housing has an opening at the upper portion thereof through which the paper-like cups are loaded into the housing, as the cups are inverted and in a nested stack. The housing has an opening at the lower portion thereof. Adjacent the opening at the lower portion of the housing is an abutment member or members which are engaged by the lowermost cup in the stack thereof. The abutment member establishes the lowermost position of the lowermost cup in the stack thereof. The portion of the cup which engages the abutment member is readily bent or deflected for removal of the lowermost cup from the stack of cups and from the housing.

  • Patent number: 4572598
Abstract: A self-serve type of salad bar for supermarkets and restaurants. The salad bar comprises a base which supports a table. The table supports a container for fruits and vegetables and for ice. A cover member is supported above the container by posts which are movable to an upper position to position the cover in an upper position to provide access to the container and the contents thereof. In its upper position, the cover serves as a shield to prevent contamination of the contents of the container. The posts and the cover are movable to a lower position in which the cover closely encloses the container and prevents access to the container. Readily adjustable support members support the posts in the upper position thereof and prevent accidental lowering of the posts and the cover.

  • Patent number: 4502623
Abstract: A disposable container for serving a food product, such as french-fried potatoes or the like, particularly in a fast-food establishment. The disposable container is constructed from a single piece or blank of paperlike material or light card stock material. The blank has a front panel, a back panel, and a bottom panel, the back panel has a pair of extending side sections which are folded to a position substantially normal to the back panel. Each of the side sections has portions which engage the front panel and the bottom panel to establish a predetermined spacing between the front panel and the back panel. Thus, a predetermined volume is established in the disposable container.

  • Patent number: 4433517
Abstract: An inner shell of rigid molded plastics material opposes an outer shell of rigid molded plastics material, and the shells have corresponding inwardly projecting adjacent flanges defining a rectangular window opening. A transparent window panel is clamped and sealed against the flanges by a rectangular trim member having a lip portion surrounding the window panel and retained by U-shaped spring clips attached to the outer shell. The inner and outer shells further include opposing contoured rectangular trim portions surrounding the window panel and defining a cavity filled with thermal insulation. The shells also have outwardly projecting flat border portions which surround the contoured trim portions and are spaced by rigid wood frame panels.
