  • Patent number: 10300220
Abstract: A syringe assembly configured to urge soft tissue out of a surgical path includes a syringe, an elongate support member and a securing member. The syringe includes a barrel, a needle with a needle tip and a plunger movably mounted in the syringe barrel. The syringe defines a longitudinal axis. The elongated support member has a proximal end, a distal end and an arcuate-shaped cross-section. The securing member is fixed near the proximal end of the elongate support member. The securing member is configured to attach the elongate support member to the syringe. A support length is defined between the securing member and the distal end and a tip length is defined between the securing member and the needle tip when the support member is mounted to the syringe. The tip length is greater than the support length when the syringe assembly is in an injection configuration.
