    Abstract: A system for determining a depth z to install a borehole receiver in a monitoring borehole includes a seismic source, a seismic receiver, an antenna, a computing device and a drilling system. The seismic source generates surface waves having multiple frequencies in a frequency band of interest within a geologic formation such as a subterranean reservoir. The seismic receiver is placed at a distance d from the seismic source, to receive the surface waves. The computing device determines a smallest frequency f1 of the multiple frequencies. The computing device further determines a surface wave velocity v for the smallest frequency f1. The computing device further calculates a longest wavelength WL of the surface wave in the frequency band of interest based on WL=v/f1. The borehole receiver is installed, e.g., with the drilling system, in the monitoring borehole at the depth z equal to the longest wavelength WL.

    Abstract: The method for monitoring the condition of the hydraulic system for predicting the risk of failure is designed for hydraulic systems, whose components include at least one pump (1) for transporting fluid through the distribution system of the hydraulic system. The hydraulic system simultaneously detects at least one current magnitude of pressure and the current value of speed of the pump (1), whereupon the current speed value is compared with the trend speed value obtained from the statistically processed archived data of speed from the previous operation of the pump (1) and/or with the reference speed value of the pump (1), whereupon the comparison result provides the condition and risk of failure of the hydraulic system.

For each point in space in the volume, and for a plurality of preselected origin times, a seismic energy arrival time at each seismic sensor is determined. Event amplitudes for each arrival time are determined. A synthetic event amplitude is calculated for each arrival time. A semblance between the determined event amplitudes and the synthetic event amplitudes is determined. Existence of an actual microseismic is determined event when the semblance exceeds a selected threshold.
