  • Patent number: 5094164
Abstract: A method of in-register exposing and printing of a flexible letterpress form for spot varnishing, which comprises fixing on a copying cylinder in-register a flexible letterpress form having a register system in a region of the leading edge of the form, and exposing the form, then clamping the flexible letterpress form on a rubber-blanket cylinder having a greater diameter than that of the copying cylinder so as to compensate for distortion of a subject in circumferential direction during circular exposure.

    Assignee: Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Ag
    Inventors: Karl Kowalczyk, Franz Arendt
  • Patent number: 4626098
Abstract: A copying frame machine for producing offset plates includes a rubber cover, a copying frame having a glass plate superimposable on the rubber cover so as to sandwich and lock therebetween an offset printing plate, a film and a sheet of copying material, means for applying a vacuum between the rubber cover and the glass plate, and vibration-generating means for applying vibration to at least one of the glass plate and the rubber cover.

  • Patent number: 4327135
Abstract: A sheet-guiding foil as a sheath for an impression cylinder in rotary offset perfecting presses, one surface of the foil being smooth while the opposite surface thereof is formed with spherical calottes of equal height and of statistically uniform distribution, including a chemically resistant, wear-resistant and rigid backing layer with good ink transfer behavior and a textured surface, and a thin chromium layer applied thereto for evening out microroughness, and the method of production.
