  • Patent number: 5144987
Abstract: In a device for a drawing a weft yarn (2) into a loom a continuous guide duct combined from tubular members (54, 55) is interrupted at places so that various operating elements such as a yarn brake (62) or a yarn tensioner (72) can act on the weft yarn (2). The weft yarn (2) is in these cases deflected transversely to the direction of movement through the tubular members, and so the tubular members (54, 55) are formed near the deflection station with slots extending from one deflecting station (63) to the other (63'). The device enables the weft yarn to be drawn in automatically by means of compressed air.

  • Patent number: 4628968
Abstract: The guide for the weft-picking element of a weaving machine is formed of alternating supports and hooks which complement one another in pairs to form a guide tooth. Each support is single armed while each adjacent hook widens towards the guide passage in order to form a support surface for the picking element. The construction ensures that a warp yarn which may jump from one lane into another lane through the guide is not overstretched.

  • Patent number: 4117871
Abstract: At least one of the clamping surfaces of the yarn clamp is provided with a recess which extends longitudinally of the clamping jaws and along the yarn path. The recess is of a depth, at most, equal to the yarn thickness so as to ensure a reliable engagement of the yarn in accurate position for transfer, for example, to a shuttle. Guide teeth may also be provided on one of the jaws in order to effect centering of the yarn into the recess.
