  • Patent number: 4881851
Abstract: For rapid assembly of the deck of a drilling platform on a pipe scaffold, a connecting element made of two interlocking parts is described. The first part is in the form of a closing head integrated by casting into the end of a vertically standing pipe of the pipe scaffold, a ring-shaped horizontal support surface and a lifting bitt extending upward. The second part is in the form of a bell-shaped cover which envelops the lifting bitt. The cover on its upper surface is welded to the drilling platform, and at its underside includes a supporting surface which bears upon the supporting surface of the first part.

  • Patent number: 4100749
Abstract: A method for lining chambers and galleries, especially mining and tunnelling galleries, employs resilient steel supporting frames which consist of a number of box-like section segments capable of being slid one into another and which thus, at least in the zone of overlap, constitute a closed tube. The ends of the overlapping segments are widened or compressed, as the case may be, and then inserted one into another. Each overlapping outer section segment is then mechanically compressed in the region of the overlap until ears of the so compressed segment grip behind flanges of the overlapped inner section segment. A self-locking wedge system providing means of restraint or braking is inserted between each two overlapping outer and inner section segments, and a leading tie and a deformation tie are fitted at the overlap region to the respective ends of the overlapping outer and inner section segments.

  • Patent number: 4050212
Abstract: A profile steel of an about U-shaped cross section, which has a profile bottom with webs and flanges slightly inclined toward each other and extending in the direction toward the open profile side. This profile steel, which is particularly well suited as profile steel segment when preparing reinforcing frames in connection with the building of mine shafts and tunnels, has a profile bottom which at its longitudinal sides has steps directed to the open side of the profile. These steps merge with the above mentioned webs which in their turn at the ends remote from the steps end in flanges pointing toward each other.
