Patent number: 6672343Abstract: An apparatus for delivering powder onto a plane surface (1) of a device for creating a three-dimensional part in a layer-by-layer fashion, in particular of a laser sintering machine, is provided. It comprises a covering means (3) which can be moved back and forth in a second direction perpendicular to said first direction by means of a drive between a lateral first position and a second position located on the opposite side. In at least one of the positions it can be filled with powder. In order to simplify the apparatus and improve its operation, the covering means (3) comprises a slit (6) extending across the entire width and open at its top and its bottom as well as smoothening elements (7, 8) at the ends opposite of the surface. A store container (9) is provided above the covering means (3), the volume of said store container at each location across the entire width being at least equal to the volume of the slit cavity located underneath.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 2001Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: EOS GmbH Optical SystemsInventors: Hans Perret, Berhard-Franz Graf, Ulli Christian Sagmeister

Patent number: 5695646Abstract: In connection with processes for conditioning soft water (pH less than/equal to 6) to become drinking water, it is necessary to supply hardening agents in order to raise the carbonate-dissolving pH value into the neutral range. Subsequently the turbid materials are flocculated out and the flocculation products are filtered off. Finally, the calcite equilibrium must be set by means of a renewed addition of a hardening agent. This process is simplified by means of the invention in that the calcite equilibrium by means of the supply of highly pure lime water is only set after filtering off the flocculation products. In the flocculation stage, highly pure lime water is also preferably employed for setting the flocculation pH value.Type: GrantFiled: December 5, 1995Date of Patent: December 9, 1997Assignee: Passavant-Werke AGInventor: Franz Graf

Patent number: 5220800Abstract: In an NMR magnet system for generating a highly homogeneous magnetic field of high field strength, with at least one superconducting magnet coil which is arranged in a first chamber of a cryostat in supercooled liquid helium at a temperature of less than 4.2K, with the cryostat having at least one further chamber containing liquid helium that is essentially at atmospheric pressure with a temperature of approximately 4.2K, the first chamber is connected to the further chamber in such a way that the supercooled liquid helium located in the first chamber is also essentially at atmospheric pressure. A refrigerator with which the liquid helium can be cooled to a temperature T<<4.2K, especially to T.apprxeq.1.8-2.3K, is provided in the first chamber.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1991Date of Patent: June 22, 1993Assignees: Bruker Analytische Messtechnik GmbH, Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe GmbHInventors: Wolfgang H. Patent number: 5075520Abstract: A contact member for electrical switching devices, in particular contactors, having a linear power supply conductor and an arc runner disposed at a distance from the contact face of the linear power supply conductor. The arc runner has a U-shaped design having an unattached end which receives the electric arc. The unattached end is in the same plane as the contact face of the power supply conductor. The U-shaped portions of the arc runner are displaced in parallel and laterally away from the contact face of the linear power supply conductor. The attached end of the U-shaped arc runner is sued to secure the arc runner. For this purpose, a groove is introduced into a block-shaped power supply conductor. A segment, joined to the attached end of the arc runner, is inserted into this groove for securing purposes.Type: GrantFiled: May 31, 1990Date of Patent: December 24, 1991Assignee: Siemens AktiengesellschaftInventors: Manfred Mueller, Franz Graf

Patent number: 5033275Abstract: A process for the preparation of pile ware on a warp knitting machine wherein, the formation of pile on the front and rear of the goods is respectively achieved by a pile thread system. For the formation of a pile free allocation the threads of at least one pile thread system can in accordance with the pattern, be so individually controlled that upon a signal they can be laid about a first or a second needle. This may be achieved by means of a jacquard bar whose needles are individually steerable in accordance with the demands of the pattern by a jacquard arrangement. In this manner it is possible to obtain a desired patterning using a pile thread system.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1990Date of Patent: July 23, 1991Assignee: Karl Mayer Textilmaschinenfabrik GmbHInventors: Joachem Fischer, Gerhard Bergmann, Franz Graf

Patent number: 4315816Abstract: An arcuate shaped magnetic system is housed in a fixed cryostat within a rotating drum. A slurry containing magnetizable particles is charged into an operating area defined by the magnetic system at the lower part of the drum and magnetic particles adhering to the drum are removed as the drum rotates the same to a discharge location. The cryostat has an outer wall which conforms to the shape of the drum and houses a sector-shaped refrigeration tank. The refrigeration tank has an arcuate wall section conforming to the shapes of the cryostat wall and the drum and is positioned in close proximity to the outer cryostat wall only in the operating area in order to minimize inward heat transfer.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 1977Date of Patent: February 16, 1982Assignee: Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AGInventors: Guenter Ries, Klaus-Peter Juengst, Siegfried Foerster, Franz Graf, Wolfgang Lehmann, Karl-Heinz Unkelbach, Gottfried Dueren

Patent number: 4272365Abstract: A magnetic separator, in particular a drum separator, includes a magnetic system having a plurality of magnets. Each of the magnets produces an open field directed toward a separation zone which, in a drum separator, extends axially of the drum outside of the surface of the drum. The magnets may include conductive coils, preferably superconducting coils, which are traversed in the same direction by current and which include an iron-free core. The average center-to-center spacing of the coils is a maximum of 25 times the spacing between the coils and the separating zone and is preferably in the range of 15:1 to 10:1. The coils are elliptical and have major and minor axes which decrease from the outermost coil winding to the innermost coil winding, with the distances between the windings being greater along the major axes than along the minor axes. This is a continuation of application Ser. No. 843,737, filed Oct. 19, 1977, now abandoned.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1979Date of Patent: June 9, 1981Assignee: Klockner-Humboldt-Deutz AGInventors: Guenter Ries, Klaus-Peter Juengst, Siegfried Foerster, Franz Graf, Wolfgang Lehmann, Karl-Heinz Unkelbach, Gottfried Duren
