Patent number: 10549340Abstract: A method for the continuous casting of metal strands. The liquid metal is simultaneously cast via a moulds into metal strands. The moulds each have a narrow side and a broad side. The moulds have a uniform narrow side so that the metal strands have equal thicknesses after casting. At least one of the moulds used has a broad side whose length differs from the length of the broad side of the other simultaneously used moulds. For each mould used, a sprue stone is provided, which is arranged on a casting table and is provided for receiving the starter strands. The casting of the metal strands includes a mould filling phase with a fixed casting table in which a plurality of starter strands is cast into the associated sprue stones. The casting includes a continuous casting phase in which the casting table is lowered and metal strands are cast.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2019Date of Patent: February 4, 2020Assignee: Hydro Aluminium Rolled Products GmbHInventors: Werner Droste, Franz Günter Hansmann

Publication number: 20090045586Abstract: Process for producing sliding and/or mating rings which can be used for a sliding-ring seal, by manufacturing sliding and/or mating rings by casting from a grey cast iron material with a high thermal conductivity, by machining at least in the subsequent sealing zone and finally by laser-hardening the surface of the respective sealing zone. It is preferable to use a grey iron having the composition (%) C: 3.4-3.9, Si: 2.2-3.2, Mn: 0.5-1, Cr: 0.1-0.4, V: max, 0.15, Cu: 0.1-0.7, P: 0.3-0.6, S: max. 0.13, remainder Fe and inevitable impurities.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 22, 2006Publication date: February 19, 2009Inventor: Franz-Gunter Cantow

Publication number: 20040048222Abstract: The invention describes a composite palatal arch for the correction of the position of teeth, which is built up from a plurality of wire sections (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) made from different materials. One of the materials is a shape-memory alloy that assumes a superelastic state at the temperatures prevailing in a human mouth. The palatal arch comprises two end sections (2, 3), which are intended to fix the palatal arch in a tooth lock (16, 17) and which are made from of a normal-elastic material. The superelastic section (4, 5) of the arch is softer than are the normal-elastic sections (1, 2, 3). The superelastic material is present only in two intermediate sections (4, 5) between the two end sections (2, 3) and a central section (1), the two intermediate sections (4, 5) are each arranged adjacent one of the end sections (2, 3), and the central section (1) of the palatal arch consists of a normal-elastic material.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 6, 2003Publication date: March 11, 2004Inventors: Rolf Forster, Franz Gunter Sander

Patent number: 4675180Abstract: Compounds of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 is long-chain alkyl, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each lower alkyl and X.crclbar. is an anion, are prepared by quaternizing amines of the formula R.sub.1 R.sub.2 R.sub.3 N with ethylene oxide in the presence of acid. This gives the quaternary compounds in virtually quantitative yield. The compounds are particularly suitable for use in hair cosmetics.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1986Date of Patent: June 23, 1987Assignee: Ciba-Geigy CorporationInventor: Franz Gunter

Patent number: 4467889Abstract: A service elevator, designed to carry persons up or down along a building wall or other structure, comprises a ladder secured to that structure and a carriage on which an endless conveyor band is supported. The band has projecting dogs engaging the rungs of the ladder which are held between a first stringer of circular cross-section and a second stringer of rectangular cross-section. The band-supporting frame has sleeves slidably engaging the first stringer and roller pairs bracketing the second stringer. A second conveyor band, serving as a standby for the working band, corotates therewith and has dogs slightly offset from those of the latter for dropping onto the rungs when the working band fails.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 1982Date of Patent: August 28, 1984Inventors: Gerd Maubach, Franz-Gunter Vogel

Patent number: 4309316Abstract: The invention relates to the production of washing powders of stabilized or enhanced appearance which contain a fluorescent whitening agent of the formula ##STR1## or of the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or chlorine, and M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium ion. The stabilizing or enhancement of the appearance is effected by first dissolving or dispersing the fluorescent whitening agent in a mixture of water and a polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl pyrrolidone which is soluble or is able to swell in water, adding this solution or dispersion to the washing powder slurry and drying the slurry. The solution or dispersion can also be subsequently sprayed onto the dried residual washing powder. The appearance can be further enhanced by employing a polyethylene glycol, a surfactant containing ethyleneoxy and/or propyleneoxy groups, and/or a cellulose ether, in addition to the polymer in the solution or dispersion.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 1979Date of Patent: January 5, 1982Assignee: Ciba-Geigy CorporationInventors: Burkhart Lange, Suresh C. Agarwal, Werner Fringeli, Franz Gunter
