  • Patent number: 5127296
Abstract: The lower cutter of an apparatus for longitudinally slitting a continuous web is rotatably mounted about a support shaft extending perpendicular to a direction of formation of the web to be slit. The shaft is fixedly mounted on a machine frame, and the lower cutter is mounted on the shaft for movement to a desired setting position along the shaft.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 7, 1992
    Assignee: Maschinenfabrik Goebel GmbH
    Inventor: Franz Held
  • Patent number: 4759249
Abstract: The lower, circular cutters of an apparatus for longitudinally slitting a continuous web are axially adjustable by the provision of a thin film of compressed air between the cutters and the support shaft.

  • Patent number: 4646603
Abstract: The lower cutter of an apparatus for longitudinally slitting a continuous web is mounted for axial displacement along its support shaft to some desired position by the provision of one or more axial first slots provided in the outer periphery of the shaft, a fitting received in each slot underlying the cutter and fastened thereto, and roller bearings between and in contact with the undersurface of the fitting and the bottom of each first slot. One or more second slots are provided in the shaft periphery each receiving a pressure bar bearing against the undersurface of the cutter, and an expandable tube or pillow between the pressure bar and the bottom of the second slot is expanded for fixing the lower cutter in place after axial displacement.

  • Patent number: 4374575
Abstract: A winding machine for winding up into rewind rolls a plurality of strips cut from an elongated web includes contact drums respectively bearing against the rewind rolls, the contact drums being independently arranged for independently exerting pressure against their rewind rolls for independently maintaining the necessary gap values between them and the periphery of the main drum about which the strips are partially looped upon entering the machine. Detecting devices associated with pairs of support arms provided for the contact drum operate a motor associated with each of the support arm pairs for each rewind roll for simultaneously rotating a pair of spindles on the support arms so as to pivot them away from the centerline of the machine when the extent of the aforementioned gap at each contact drum is reduced below a desired minimum.

  • Patent number: 3998399
Abstract: A machine for rewinding a plurality of strips longitudinally cut from a continuous web includes feed drums associated with each roll of the wound strips, and mounting means for the rolls and the drums which are together shiftable along an axis parallel to the drum axis in such a manner as to permit drums of various axial dimensions to be mounted by the drum mounting means so as to accommodate rolls respectively having various axial dimensions. Alternatively, the drum and roll mounting means are disposed for shifting relative to each other along such axis to permit the mounting of both drums and rolls of different axial dimensions.
