  • Patent number: 5015031
Abstract: A reclining chair comprises a seat having a front end, a backrest turnably connected with the seat, a foot part connected with the front end of the seat turnable between a non-use position in which it is located under the seat and a use position in which it is located approximately at the height of the seat, stationary braces on which the seat and the foot part are provided, hinge bars each turnably connected to a respective one of the braces and provided for turning the foot part, multi-part turning fixture so that the backrest is connected with the braces and the seat through the turning fixture, the fixture including turning bar connected with a lower end of the backrest, the bar pivotally connected with the turning bar and turnably connected with the seat, and a turning lever pivotally connected with one of the stationary braces and with the bar, an abutment pin having a turning region between the turning bar and the bar and also between the bar and the turning lever, and an end abutment mounted on the on

  • Patent number: 4690358
Abstract: An adjustment fitting for a height-adjustable mounting of a furniture part on a furniture main body includes a guiding sleeve and a carrier post partially received and slidably guided in the guiding sleeve. An arresting arrangement operative for arresting the carrier post in a multitude of positions relative to the guiding sleeve is concealed in at least one of the guiding sleeve and carrier post. The arresting arragement may include two cooperating parts one of which is secured to the guiding sleeve and the other to the carrier post, or it may be constituted by a clamping roller which is received in a downwardly tapering pocket of the guiding sleeve and is clamped between the inclined surface bounding such a pocket and the external surface of the carrier post. The furniture part may also be mounted on the carrier post for pivoting about an axis extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the carrier post.

  • Patent number: 4672696
Abstract: A convertible sitting/reclining furniture article comprises a main frame and a seat element which is supported at a predetermined elevation above ground. A bed frame can be pulled out of and pushed into the main frame in a drawer-like manner and includes a front side, a rear side and two lateral sides. An extension element is mounted on the bed frame for displacement between a retracted position and an extended position in which the extension element is disposed at the predetermined elevation to form an extension of the seat element by a five-bar kinematic linkage at each of the lateral sides of the bed frame. Each of the kinematic linkages includes a steering lever pivotally mounted at a first region of the extension element and at a first portion of the bed frame, and two steering links more remote from the front side of the bed frame than the steering lever and adjacent to the steering lever.

  • Patent number: 3974530
Abstract: An elongated frame has a head section, a foot section and a center section. Hinges connect the center section with the head section and with the foot section, respectively. The head section is pivoted to a support in the region where it is connected to the center section, so it can tilt about a first axis which extends transversely of the elongation of the frame. Below the center section the support is provided with pivots which define a second axis extending parallel to the first axis; on these pivots, tiltable elements are pivotably mounted. Each of the tiltable elements is formed with a guide passage extending normal to the second axis and through which an elongated guide member mounted on a lower side of the center section extends in slidable relationship.
