  • Patent number: 4601678
Abstract: Torsionally resilient coupling with, between two coupling halves, at least one movement-transforming intermediate element which transforms a rotation into a translation and is connected frictionally in rotation to one of the two coupling halves and is connected in translation to a connecting element which is in turn articulated pivotably to a resilient intermediate element which is in turn connected frictionally and integrally in rotation to the respective other coupling half. In this coupling a maximum degree of symmetry of the forces acting is achieved, and shear forces which lead to an asymmetrical stressing of the resilient intermediate elements are eliminated in that the journal pins or journal bolts by which the connecting element if articulated to the resilient intermediate element are guided in lateral slot slits.

  • Patent number: 4566604
Abstract: The invention relates to a metal closing disk with an essentially bar-shaped metal elevation of smaller diameter and with an insulating layer applied at least to the elevation surface side of the closing disk and consisting of a plastic or elastomer, especially for closing electrolytic can-type capacitors, and also to a process for improving the seal in closing disks of this type. Since it has been possible for an electrolyte to creep between the insulating layer and the underside of the closing disk in known closing disks provided with an insulating layer at least on the inner face and intended for electrolytic can-type capacitors, thus resulting in reforming actions and changes in capacitance, the object of the invention is to prevent this. Consequently, in a closing disk according to the invention, the insulating layer is made to adjoin flush the base region of the metal elevation formed on, so that the complete surface of the underside of the closing disk is consequently covered.

  • Patent number: 4552543
Abstract: A torsionally elastic coupling includes a pair of load first and second coupling plates capable of twisting relative to each other by means of a motion-changing link connected to one of the plates, a coupling link connected to the motion-changing link and a spring link coupled to the coupling link. The coupling link is connected to a bearing plate which, when the first and second coupling plates are twisted with respect to one another, is pulled radially inward to act upon the spring link so that a high degree of softness in twisting is achieved by the bearing plate acting as a centrifugal weight.

  • Patent number: 4514788
Abstract: The composite cover plate for the locking of compartments of electric components, especially for locking the metallic can compartment of an electric condenser consists of an aluminum disc sandwiched between a rubber coating applied on its one side and a disc of artificial material on its opposite side. The disc of artificial material is forced flush against the free surface of the aluminum disc by electric lead-through elements, especially lead-through rivet elements. The rubber coating is disposed around the outer edge of the aluminum disc extending up to a ring-shaped edge portions on the side of the aluminum disc on which the disc of artificial material lies. This ring-shaped rubber coating encloses the outer edge of the disc of artificial material in substantially definite form. Each lead-through rivet is secured against displacement through riveting on the bottom side of the disc of artificial material.

  • Patent number: 4479638
Abstract: A self-activated and load-independent level regulating device for connection between two relatively movable parts includes a pump having a pump chamber and a piston. The pump chamber is connected to one of the parts and the piston, which is operable in the pump chamber, is engageable with the other of the parts such that the relative axial position of the piston in the pump chamber correspond to the relative position between the two parts. An elastically deformable spring chamber containing a hydraulic fluid is disposed between the two parts, and a supply chamber containing a hydraulic fluid supply is also disposed between the two parts. A first passageway is connected between the pump chamber and the supply chamber means, and a first control valve is disposed in the first passageway.

  • Patent number: 4458888
Abstract: A damper for dampening shock and vibration between two structural members includes a housing secured to one of the structural members and a flexible membrane body secured to the other. The flexible membrane body defines at least parts of three hydraulic chambers which are hydraulically interconnected through hydraulic passages, whereby dampening between the two structural members is effected flexibly by the membrane body and hydraulically by the fluid in the hydraulically interconnected chambers.

  • Patent number: 4361349
Abstract: A ring-packed pipe spigot-and-socket connection in which an elastic rubber packing ring having an essentially V-shaped cross section is disposed in an annular groove provided in the inside wall of a socket in such a way that prior to the insertion of the spigot end, one of the two legs of the V-shaped packing ring lies substantially axially aligned and turned toward the outlet of the socket, while the other leg extends substantially radially into the interior of the socket. After insertion of the spigot end, the two legs of the V-shaped packing ring provide a seal at the external wall of the spigot end. In the process, the segment of the packing ring facing the two sealing legs, i.e. the "foot segment", seals against the bottom of the annular groove. The annular groove has the shape of a substantially shallow V-shaped chamber and is of such a width that it can accommodate the spread-out packing ring completely when the spigot end has been inserted in the socket.

  • Patent number: 4342464
Abstract: A gasket for a socket-spigot connection between a socket end and a spigot end of two pipes to be connected is made of a material stable as to its shape and adapted to carry at its inner radial side at least one resilient sealing ring and at its outer radial side at least one other sealing ring. The gasket has an outer diameter equal to or slightly less than the inner diameter of the socket and an inner diameter equal to or greater than the outer diameter of the spigot. The gasket has a radial inner ring groove and a radial outer ring groove, the radial inner ring groove being constructed and arranged to receive one of the seal rings to provide a pressure seal engagement between the one seal ring and the outer surface of the spigot, the radial outer ring groove being constructed and arranged to receive another of the seal rings to provide a pressure seal engagement between the other seal ring and the inside surface of the socket.

  • Patent number: 4304415
Abstract: A resilient packing for use in sleeve-type couplings is disclosed which has a cross-sectional shape that generally conforms to the cross section of an associated annular groove. The packing ring has a root portion which is axially narrower than the groove root diameter. At the circumference, the ring has radially protruding bead and a pair of axially protruding shoulders. The axial distance between the shoulders exceeds the axial width at the corresponding portion of the groove to axially stabilize the ring in the groove. Sides of the ring are generally spaced from corresponding adjacent side walls of the groove to accommodate axial expansion during radial compression of the ring at the time of coupling assembly. Additional opposed circumferential grooves may be provided to multiply the cross-sectional configuration and attain a seal ring suitable for comparatively wide groove.

  • Patent number: 4296186
Abstract: A pressure relief valve is provided having only two parts, a housing and a valve body located in a chamber in the housing. In a first embodiment, the housing has a deformable elastic, stressed wall opposite the valve seat, with a rigid valve body engaging the wall and the valve seat in closed condition. In a second embodiment, the housing is rigid and the valve body is of deformable, elastic material and is stressed when in position in the housing, engaging the wall and the valve seat in closed condition. The valve body is preferably spherical, the height perpendicular to the plane of the valve seat being at least about 75% of the width, parallel to the valve seat. The housing of the first embodiment may be of metal, such as sheet steel, or of plastic. Plastic housings which are elastically deformable may be injection molded directly into an opening in a container part, or may be separately molded and then secured in the opening of a container part.
