  • Patent number: 7765648
Abstract: In an apparatus for detecting a parameter at a plurality of slivers fed to a drafting system of a spinning machine, especially for detecting the movement and/or the presence of a sliver, in which the parameter is measurable separately at each sliver, each sliver is drawn out of sliver cans over a respective driven feed roller and fed to the drafting system and is mechanically sensed by a feeler element, the deflections of which are convertible into electrical signals. To allow an improved and more accurate detection of the individual slivers in a structurally simple manner, a distance sensor that is a contactless distance sensor is provided to detect the position of each feeler element, the sensor being connected to an electrical evaluating unit.

  • Patent number: 7735202
Abstract: In an apparatus on a spinning preparation machine, for example a flat card, roller card, draw frame, combing machine or the like, for ascertaining the mass and/or fluctuations in the mass of a fiber material, for example at least one fiber sliver, fiber web or the like, of cotton, synthetic fibers or the like, the fiber material is scanned mechanically by a feeler element the excursions of which are converted into electrical signals. In order to facilitate improved and more accurate measurement of the fiber in a way that is simple in terms of structure and installation, a contactless distance sensor is provided for detecting the position of the feeler element, the sensor being a sensor that measures distance using transmitted waves, and is connected to an electronic evaluating device.

  • Patent number: 7650672
Abstract: In an apparatus on a spinning preparation machine, for example, a flat card, draw frame or the like, for monitoring at least one sliver, having two rotating rollers that form a roller nip through which at least one sliver passes, an optical monitoring arrangement (sensor) that monitors the presence of the sliver is provided in the vicinity of the rollers. To permit a reliable and trouble-free monitoring of sliver breakage in a structurally simple manner, the sensor arrangement is arranged in the region between the shared tangents to the peripheral surfaces of the rollers, the tangents being arranged perpendicularly to the running direction of the fiber, and the optical path of the sensor runs parallel to the axles of the rollers.

  • Patent number: 7644474
Abstract: In an apparatus on a spinning preparation machine, for example, a flat card, roller card, draw frame or the like, for monitoring fiber material, having at least one rotating roller that delivers fiber material, and a monitoring arrangement device that detects undesirable accumulations (build-up) of fiber material and emits an electrical signal is present. To permit immediate detection of undesirable accumulations of material in a structurally simple manner, the monitoring arrangement comprises a non-contact sensor arrangement (sensor), which is capable of detecting undesirable accumulations of fiber material.

  • Patent number: 7610660
Abstract: In an apparatus on a drafting system of a spinning room machine, especially a draw frame, carding machine, combing machine or the like, for weighting the drafting system rollers, at least one pressure-medium cylinder with a piston is acted upon by pressure medium and is arranged so as to be axially movable inside a cylinder housing. A piston rod extends from piston passing through at least one cylinder cover that defines the cylinder housing at the end. In order to improve the apparatus, for determining the position of the piston with the piston rod, at least one inductive displacement sensor is integrated into the pressure-medium system, and the inductive displacement sensor is connected to an evaluation device.

  • Patent number: 7506410
Abstract: An apparatus for stripping fiber material from textile fiber bales has a tower, which can be moved to and fro in relation to the fiber material by means of a carriage having a travel motor or the like, and has at least one boom, which is provided with the stripping apparatus. The boom together with the stripping apparatus can be moved in the height direction of the tower by means of a lifting motor or the like. A movable distance sensor is provided for determination of the location in the length direction. In order to make possible, by simple means, an exact determination of location in the length and/or height direction, a movable distance sensor scans, for location determination in the length and/or height direction, the distances to a counterpart element and calculates from those distances the location.
