  • Publication number: 20230066426
Abstract: A textile reinforcement for integrating into concrete, having carbon fibers. The reinforcement is coated with a layer which protects against oxidation, wherein the carbon fibers are provided in the form of an interlaced, twisted, or cabled thread structure and have 5 wt. % of matrix resin, and the layer which protects against oxidation is a separate layer and can produce a chemical bond to a component of the concrete. The invention additionally relates to a concrete part which has a textile reinforcement.

  • Patent number: 6946083
Abstract: A dust-reducing composition for treating dry soil that includes a hygroscopic compound together with a hydrophobic compound in relative amounts sufficient to form a water-repellant surface on the soil. Also, a process for treating dry soil to reduce dust generation due to movement of traffic or air thereover. This process includes applying onto the soil a hygroscopic compound and subsequently applying a hydrophobic compound onto the hygroscopic compound containing soil. Alternatively, the process includes applying onto the soil an aqueous solution of a mixture of a hygroscopic compound and a hydrophobic compound. In either case, the hygroscopic and hydrophobic compounds are applied in relative amounts sufficient to form a water-repellant surface on the soil.

  • Patent number: 4620195
Abstract: A method is proposed for fabricating components of an ink droplet generator for generating a sequence of charged, detected and deflected ink droplets for an ink jet printer, as is proposed an ink droplet generator fabricated thereby. The method which is based upon multi-layer technology involves forming the charging electrodes and the detection electrodes by removing unnecessary metal coating from a support element metallically coated on at least one side of the support element and forming the deflection electrodes by removing unnecessary metal coating from a polyimide foil coated on at least one side thereof. The polyimide foil is mounted on a substrate constructed as a support element. The arrangement defining the ink droplet generator comprises a first module formed from both board or panel-like support elements and a second module formed from both board or panel-like support elements.

  • Patent number: 4612553
Abstract: A method and apparatus for monitoring and regulating the ink droplet velocity in the ink supply system of an ink jet printer is proposed which essentially comprises an ink jet propulsion member, a charging electrode, a charge detector, a deflection electrode and an ink droplet catch gutter. In the method, during a non-writing or non-recording dead-time interval (PHASING), a first relatively small number of ink droplets is relatively weakly charged and a second, nearly twice as great, number of droplets remains uncharged. A signal is detected which is nearly proportional to the droplet velocity of the first, weakly charged, ink droplets and is employed for monitoring and regulating the ink droplet velocity or for pressure-dependently regulating an ink jet velocity or both.

  • Patent number: 4390770
Abstract: Automatic welding apparatus is provided for welding contact tabs to solar lls which are particularly adapted for use in space vehicular solar generators. The apparatus comprises a plurality of welding electrodes arranged to extend across the direction of movement of a solar cell conveying table. The electrodes are movable in two directions perpendicular to each other and both perpendicular to the direction of movement of the conveying table.

  • Patent number: 3977904
Abstract: The battery is of the type including a plurality of laminar semi-conductor bodies arranged on a dielectric support in parallel relation to each other and each comprising respectively layers of two different but oppositely conducting semi-conductor material forming a photovoltaic junction, with the layer adjacent the support being of the same conducting type in all of the semi-conductor bodies, and including contact strips electrically interconnecting oppositely conducting layers of adjacent semi-conductor bodies and extending throughout the length thereof. The support has one surface thereof formed with a plurality of V-shape notches extending parallel to each other and separated by lands, and the semi-conductor bodies are applied directly to the lands. The contact strips extend in the notches between two adjacent lands and are, along the edge of one land, in electrical contact with the inner layer of the respective semi-conductor body on the one land and which is directly adjacent the support.
