  • Publication number: 20060179643
Abstract: A process for the production of a lithium polymer cell is involves extruding a material mixture for an anode and a mixture for a cathode to form an anode and cathode masses. At least one of the masses is extruded with a mixture of cyclohexanone and methyl ethyl ketone. The anode and cathode masses are laminated onto conductors and joined with an intervening separator to form a lithium polymer cell.

  • Publication number: 20060032045
Abstract: The present invention includes a process for the manufacture of a storage device for electrical energy. The process includes degassing an anode mass and a cathode mass. The anode mass includes a lithium intercalatable carbon in a mixture with one or more of an organic solvent, a supporting electrolyte, a polymer binder and a supporting electrolyte additive. The cathode mass includes a lithium intercalatable heavy metal oxide in a mixture with one or more of an organic solvent, a supporting electrolyte a polymer binder and a supporting electrolyte additive. The cathode mass and the anode mass are applied to current conductors. A separator is disposed between the anode mass and the cathode mass to form a composite. The composite is laminated to form the storage device.

  • Publication number: 20050129838
Abstract: Electrodes for high energy lithium polymer batteries are produced. An electrode material mixture of a Li-intercalatable active electrode material, a supporting electrolyte and a solvent is mixed with a binder. Homogenization of the mixture results in a single phase suspension electrode mass which is applied to a conductor to form a homogeneous coating thereon. The electrode mass is adjusted to the desired thickness after drying.
