  • Publication number: 20140216601
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for refilling a stationary storage tank with a subcooled cryogenically liquefied gas from a tanker. A subcooler, comprising a cooling bath and connected between the tanker and an inlet of the storage tank, is filled with the liquefied gas from the tanker up to a filling level and cooled to a bath temperature. The storage tank is subsequently refilled with the liquefied gas from the tanker by the liquefied gas being pumped through a heat exchanger in the cooling bath of the subcooler into the storage tank by using a delivery pump, during which it is cooled to the bath temperature of the cooling bath. After the end of the filling process, the subcooler is no longer supplied with liquefied gas and therefore heats up.

  • Publication number: 20110239670
Abstract: A method for managing access to a confined space which is cooled by the direct injection of a cryogenic fluid, comprising at least one system for closing the confined space, which can prevent access to said confined space and can be opened/closed to a variable and controllable degree, and a data acquisition and processing device. The device can: control the open or closed state of the closure system; set and control the degree to which the closure system is open/closed; ensure that a time delay (TP) is respected every time the closure system is closed, after which time delay the injection of cryogenic fluid into the space resumes; and, at the request of a user, implement the cycle for opening the closure system. The device determines the time that has elapsed (TE) in the closed position since the last closure cycle of the closure system and compares TE to TP. If TE=TP the device immediately authorizes the opening of the closure system.

  • Patent number: 5896881
Abstract: The process and device according to the invention make it possible to reduce the pressure build-up in the head space as a function of the quantity of inflow medium. It also makes it possible to maintain or create defined flow conditions in the head space gas. This is accomplished by measuring the quantity of gaseous and/or liquid inflow medium and then venting the head space gas as a function of the quantity of inflow medium.

  • Patent number: 5012827
Abstract: In processes for high pressure extraction, a gaseous solvent under high pressure is conducted through an extractor filled with solid material and in this process takes on organic components from the solid materials. These are subsequently separated in a separator and the solvent is again delivered to the extractor. In particular, when gas mixtures having a reduced solvating power are used as solvent to increase the selectivity of the components to be dissolved out, high gas throughputs become necessary to produce a certain amount of product. In order to reduce the high gas throughputs, the solid materials are soaked with a gaseous solvent under high pressure without gas extraction before the circulation process begins. The solvent composition as well as the soaking conditions may deviate from the extraction conditions. In this process, prior to the extraction stage, the solid material in the extractor is soaked with a gaseous solvent under high pressure without the occurrence of a gas flow.
