  • Publication number: 20110226449
Abstract: A ventilation device for transmissions with lubricant comprising water, the device being disposed above the transmission (1) and being connected thereto by way of a line (10) and comprising a pressure equalization opening (13) that leads to the surrounding environment, is to operate without loss of evaporating water to the environment. To this end, the device comprises at least one container (17) designed as a condenser for evaporated water rising through the line (10), the container being provided with a cooling element for dissipating heat (15), the condensate passing from said container (17) back to the transmission (1). In one variant, two containers containing a fluid are described which communicate with one another by way of a U-shaped channel.

  • Publication number: 20110214287
Abstract: A method for producing and commissioning a transmission with a water-based lubricant comprises the following steps. A mixture of a vaporizable liquid, a comminuted solid lubricant and a preserving agent (22) are applied (21) to the finished rotary parts (20) and then dried (23), whereby a coating forms on them. The rotary parts with the coating are installed in the transmission housing and the assembled transmission is filled with a cooling liquid (25), which is primarily essentially water. The transmission is put into operation for the first time (27), wherein the lubricant for the further operation is only formed by abrasion of the rotary parts and distribution of the abraded matter in the cooling liquid. The transmission is then ready for operation (28). Furthermore, a lubricant produced by this method is described.

  • Publication number: 20090277298
Abstract: An operable transmission comprising toothed wheels. In order to operate the transmission with a lubricant and coolant which is environmentally friendly while providing improved heat dissipation and temperature-independent viscosity, the transmission contains a mixture of water and a glycol or similar, in which graphite particles are suspended. The mixture contains 40 to 60 percent per weight of the glycol and 2 to 25 percent by weight of graphite in the form of flaky graphite particles having a grain size of less than 12 micrometers, the remainder being composed of water and other admixtures and/or additives. Also disclosed are the lubricant and coolant as well as a method for starting a transmission operated with the lubricant and coolant.

  • Patent number: 6160323
Abstract: The invention relates to a safety switching device (1) for electrically controlled machines, for use in combination with the control elements of the machine control-system itself during manual operation, in which the multi-action safety switching device (1) has several channels or several switching circuits (7, 8) and the switching circuits have at least one operating element (2, 3) which can be adjusted by an operator depending on the desired switching function. Each switching circuit (7, 8) has at least one position-sensing device (14, 15), comprising in particular contactless detection devices (16, 17) for detecting, at any time, the position (4 to 6) of the operating elements (2, 3) corresponding to the respective switching stages, which can be adjusted by the operator.

  • Patent number: 5823928
Abstract: A roll includes a stationary carrier, a roll jacket, in particular a resilient roll jacket, on the carrier and at least one support element with an associated contact pressure piston, which is supported on the carrier in the region of a pressing zone defined between the roll jacket and a counter surface, while forming a fluid cushion between the support element and the roll jacket. In this arrangement the support element is provided with a pressing section facing the roll jacket, which is bounded in the circumferential direction of the roll by outer edges which are substantially straight and extend parallel to the roll axis, with the width of the pressing section measured between the outer edges being smaller than the maximum outer diameter of the contact pressure piston.

  • Patent number: 5152677
Abstract: A dry-running reciprocating compressor which has a drive mechanism with a crankcase, in which at least one crankshaft is mounted to rotate in bearings. The drive mechanism is operatively connected with at least one piston-cylinder arrangement of the compressor to compress air to the desired compression pressure. The intake air to be compressed is used for interior cooling of the drive mechanism, and for this purpose, the intake air is conducted through a filter into the interior of the crankcase. For specific cooling of especially critical parts and areas of the components and units in the interior of the crankcase, additional air conducting devices, such as air baffles, fins or the like can be provided. Preferably, the reciprocating compressor has three stages.
