  • Patent number: 10570249
Abstract: A process for producing cycloalkenamer-containing compositions involves converting at least one cycloalkene by ring-opening metathetic polymerization to obtain a polyalkenamer-containing product mixture. The product mixture is worked up to remove monomers and oligomers of the cycloalkenes to obtain the polyalkenamer-containing composition by extraction with CO2. The extraction involves at least two stages: an extraction with liquid CO2 under the supercritical conditions, and then an extraction with supercritical CO2. Such cycloalkenamer-containing compositions can be used, for example, in the field of packaging materials, especially for food and drink.

  • Patent number: 8513456
Abstract: A carnosic acid-rich plant extract can be produced by extracting a dried and comminuted plant material containing carnosic acid with supercritical CO2 at a pressure of at least 200 bar and at a temperature of at most 100° C. In a first step, supercritical CO2 in a quantity of 10 to 50 kg of CO2 per kg of plant material is passed through the plant material to obtain a first CO2 extract. In a second step, additional supercritical CO2 is passed through the plant material to obtain a second CO2 extract, and a carnosic acid-rich plant extract is separated from the second CO2 extract by lowering the pressure.

  • Patent number: 6288130
Abstract: The invention relates to oil-free glycerophospholipid formulations which contain a homogeneous mixture of glycerophospholipids and an anhydrous, liquid polyol compound such as glycerol in a molar ratio of 1:0.1 to 1. These formulations are produced, eg, by extracting a starting material consisting of an oil-containing glycerophospholipid (mixture) and the polyol component with a compressed hydrocarbon (mixture) in a rectifying column. The oil-free formulation can be obtained from the melt at the bottom of the column in the form of free-flowing powder, which is ideally suited for stabilising oil-in-water emulsions.

  • Patent number: 5750180
Abstract: A process is described for obtaining lipid fractions from egg products in powder form with a content of phospholipids in which the egg product is a) firstly extracted with liquid propane at a pressure of.ltoreq.200 bar and a temperature of.ltoreq.70.degree. C. and b) subsequently with a mixture of liquid propane and an entraining agent composed of an aliphatic alcohol with 1 to 4 C atoms. In this way it is possible to produce lipid fractions with good sensory properties whose content of phospholipids is at least 25% by weight and up to 80% by weight.

  • Patent number: 5433949
Abstract: In order to produce natural antioxidants by extraction of spices selected from the group of rosemary, thyme, sage and origano using compressed carbon dioxide and oreganic solventsa) these spices are de-aromatized by extraction with carbon dioxide at a pressure of 80 to 300 bar and at a temperature of 10.degree. to 80.degree. C.,b) the extraction residue obtained from step a) is treated with polar alcoholic solvents with 1 to 4 C atoms and/or non-polar hydrocarbons with 5 to 7 C atoms andc) the solvent extract obtained from step b) is treated with active carbon andd) the extract obtained from step c) is aftertreated with water at a temperature of 40.degree. to 100.degree. C. if desired after extensively removing the solvent.Antioxidants obtained in this way are almost completely neutral with regard to flavour, odor as well as colour and are more effective than synthetic antioxidants.
