  • Patent number: 8993956
Abstract: A method for the calibration of a sensor system is provided, the method including use of two calibration media. A high-quality first calibration medium, having a standardized reference independent of the sensor system to be calibrated, is used for a first calibration step in which the sensor system is calibrated and adjusted. A second calibration step immediately follows using a second calibration medium, having a non-standardized reference and being a component of the sensor system, to generate and store measuring signals of the second calibration medium with at least one sensor of the sensor system. Upon subsequent calibrations of the sensor system the second calibration medium is used exclusively so as to generate measuring signals of the second calibration medium with the sensor. If the measuring signals generated in the subsequent calibrations deviate from the stored measuring signals of the second calibration step, an adjustment of the sensor is effected.

  • Patent number: 8132454
Abstract: Sensor components having sides facing the sheet material have one or a plurality of front elements which are detachable and replaceable with low effort. So in the case of wear of the sensor fronts, entire sensor components no longer have to be replaced but only individual front elements of the sensor component are replaced. The front elements do not contact the inner area of the housing and the sensitive measuring elements arranged therein. When the front elements are detached from the housing for maintenance, the measuring elements remain dustproof encapsulated in the housing of the sensor component. The front elements preferably have a comb structure which improves the transport of the bank notes at the transition between the sensor components.

  • Publication number: 20110127414
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the calibration of a sensor system. In the method according to the invention it is provided to use two calibration media. A high-quality first calibration medium (10), having a standardized reference, which is independent of the sensor system to be calibrated, is used once, e.g. upon the manufacturing or after a repair of the sensor system, for a first calibration step in which the sensor system is calibrated and adjusted. In an immediately following second calibration step a second calibration medium, having a non-standardized reference, and being a component of the sensor system, is used to generate and store measuring signals of the second calibration medium (6) with at least one sensor (3) of the sensor system. In the calibration mode upon subsequent calibrations of the sensor system exclusively the second calibration medium is used, so as to again generate measuring signals of the second calibration medium with the sensor (3).

  • Publication number: 20100258458
Abstract: A sensor housing (10) is sealed against the penetration of dust by means of sealing compound (7) by grooves at the interfaces of abutting housing members (1, 2, 3; 8, 9) being so configured that they form at least one channel (4) in the assembled state. After assembly and fixing of the housing members the sealing compound (7) is injected into the channel (4) through an inlet opening (5). This permits even complex contact geometries to be mutually sealed in a simple manner.

  • Publication number: 20100000312
Abstract: In bank note processing machines bank notes are conveyed by a transport system and thereby pass through a sensor path. With some sensors the bank notes guided past touch the front side of the sensor housing. Thus, the front sides wear out which may impair the transport of the bank notes. In the case of wear of the sensor fronts, no longer complete sensor components but only individual front elements of the sensor component are replaced. To the side of the sensor housing facing the bank notes there are fixed one or a plurality of front elements which are detachable and thus replaceable with low effort. The front elements do not contact the inner area of the housing and the sensitive measuring elements arranged therein. When the front elements are detached from the housing for maintenance, the measuring elements remain dustproof encapsulated in the housing of the sensor component.
