Abstract: A side impact protection device comprises a gas bag adapted to be translated from a folded condition into an unfolded condition, and a tensioning device. The tensioning device has a traction apparatus with a first and a second end. The first end is connected to the gas bag at a first region and the second end is connected to the gas bag at a second region which is different from the first region. The side impact protection device further comprises at least two deflection points for the traction apparatus. The traction apparatus extends from the first region via the deflection points towards the second region.

Abstract: A mounting assembly for a lateral impact gas bag module comprises a fastening section and a mounting section. The fastening section is provided with at least one opening for a fastener stud. The mounting section comprises two side walls facing each other, and a transition section connecting the side walls to each other. At least one locking edge is provided in at least one of the side walls. This locking edge serves to lock a gas bag module in place in the mounting section.

Abstract: An assembly for a vehicle occupant restraint system comprises an inflator and a gas exit tube connected in a gas-tight manner thereto. The inflator is provided with a discharge portion for the gas generated by the inflator when required. The discharge portion comprises a circumferential groove having in cross-section a saw tooth profile with a flank perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the discharge portion. This flank is located on the side of the groove facing the gas exit tube. The gas exit tube comprises a portion which engages the groove in an interfitting manner by means of a plastically deformed portion and secures the gas exit tube axially thereto at the inflator.
