  • Patent number: 5024122
Abstract: A shaft support structure for a rotatable shaft having at least one gear thereon, the shaft and gear being oriented in a transmission housing. The shaft is twice supported: once directly on the transmission housing in one opening, and once in a bearing bracket which is provided in a second opening in the transmission housing. The axially spaced openings for the shaft in the transmission housing are out of alignment. However, the support structure in the transmission housing for the shaft provides an axially aligned support for the shaft. The bearing bracket effects a centering of the shaft support in the transmission housing.

  • Patent number: 4409904
Abstract: A double-axle drive for trucks of a railway vehicle has a drive motor with a drive shaft extending parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and a respective gearing mechanism engaged with each end of the drive shaft. Each gearing mechanism is drivingly coupled to a hollow shaft which concentrically surrounds a respective wheel-set axle. The wheel-set axle and hollw shaft are coupled by elastic couplings provided at each end of the hollow shaft. Each elastic coupling includes a coupling half mounted on the hollow shaft and a coupling half axially aligned therewith mounted on the axle. One coupling half has a plurality of radially extending pins and the other has a plurality of radially extending arms, the pins and arms being positioned alternately in a rotational direction. Elastically yieldable elements are provided between the pins and arms, are initially tensioned, and engage surfaces on the pins and arms which are not parallel to the wheel-set axle.

  • Patent number: 4026396
Abstract: Pressure fluid control for a transmission. There is provided a pressure fluid control device for a transmission, particularly applicable to use in fork lift trucks, wherein a suitable hydraulic selector receives pressure medium from a pressure creating device such as a pump and directs same through a pressure regulating valve to a selected one of the transmission clutches or couplings. Particularly the pressure regulating valve is arranged in a rotary slide valve of the hydraulic selector and is arranged to respond to a piston energized by brake pressure fluid. Thus by the use of very simple apparatus the first portion of a brake pedal movement is utilized to disengage a transmission.
