Patent number: 7009103Abstract: A coaxial line includes an inner conductor, an outer conductor, and a series of insulating material struts located between the inner and outer conductors. At least some of the struts include conduits through which coolant may be supplied and removed. The line further includes connections that permit coolant to be sent through the line. In operation, coolant flows through the connections, along the struts, and into the inner conductor, cooling the coaxial line.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2004Date of Patent: March 7, 2006Assignee: Spinner GmbHInventor: Franz Pitschi

Publication number: 20050067175Abstract: A coaxial line, via which HF currents of more than 1 MW may be transmitted due to improved cooling, even in continuous operation, includes an inner conductor (3), through which the coolant may be conducted. The coolant may be supplied and removed via hollow insulating material struts (5). Particularly if a liquid coolant is used, a significant savings in weight is achieved practically without reducing the efficiency of the cooling if a tube (7) of smaller diameter is positioned in the inner conductor (3) and the coolant only flows through the annular space (8) between this tube (7) and the inner conductor (3).Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2004Publication date: March 31, 2005Inventor: Franz Pitschi

Patent number: 6716061Abstract: A coaxial connector includes a connector head housing with a recess adapted to receive, contact and clamp the end of the outer conductor of a coaxial cable. The connector head housing also has an inner conductor for contacting the inner conductor of the coaxial cable. The inner diameter of the recess is equal to the smallest outside diameter of the outer conductor of the respective cable type. Slots disposed in the wall of the recess make the wall resilient in the radial direction. The connector can be connected, in particular soldered, to the outer conductor of coaxial cables both in the factory and at the installation site, even if the coaxial cables have a relatively large diameter. This type of connector provides a particularly low intermodulation.Type: GrantFiled: April 4, 2001Date of Patent: April 6, 2004Assignee: Spinner GmbH Elektrotechnische FabrikInventors: Franz Pitschi, Rudolf Peschka, Anton Lorenz Jun, Klaus-Dieter Mischerikow

Patent number: 6710674Abstract: A waveguide fitting for connecting in particular a rectangular waveguide to an elliptical waveguide can be assembled particularly easily and yet provides a very low-reflection connection if the fitting at least at one end is conductively provided with the first section of a sleeve of which the second section is designed to receive the end region of the waveguide to be connected and which is divided at least in this second section by narrow capillary-action axial slots into radially springing lamellae which, after insertion of the waveguide, abut against the outer wall thereof, and in addition the inner wall at least of the second section of the sleeve is designed to receive a solder deposit. To make the connection, it is then necessary only to heat the whole junction with an external heat source until the solder in the solder deposits melts and fills the gaps between the inner wall of this section of the sleeve and the outer wall of the waveguide.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2002Date of Patent: March 23, 2004Assignee: Spinner GmbH Elektrotechnische FabrikInventor: Franz Pitschi

Patent number: 6529357Abstract: A coaxial overvoltage protector, includes a coaxial transmission line having an inner conductor and an outer conductor, and a &lgr;/4 short-circuit line having an inner conductor radially branching off the inner conductor of the coaxial transmission line. The inner conductor of the &lgr;/4 short-circuit line is electrically contacted with the outer conductor of the coaxial transmission line and guided in insulated manner through a wall of the outer conductor of the coaxial transmission line into a chamber of the outer conductor, thereby defining a portion which is received in the chamber and oriented at least approximately in a plane which is parallel to the axis of the coaxial transmission line.Type: GrantFiled: August 1, 2000Date of Patent: March 4, 2003Assignee: Spinner GmbH Elektrotechnische FabrikInventors: Josef Landinger, Franz Pitschi

Patent number: 6431911Abstract: A connector for a coaxial cable with thin-walled outer cable conductor, includes a connector head forming an outer connector conductor for electric connection to an outer cable conductor of a coaxial cable, and an inner connector conductor. Embraced by the connector head is a support insulator for retaining the inner connector conductor centrally in and spaced from the connector head, as well as a contact sleeve for establishing a contact between the outer cable conductor and the connector head. The contact sleeve has a thin-walled, cable-proximal portion formed with a thread and intended for rotation into the coaxial cable to establish the contact between the outer cable conductor and the connector head, wherein the contact sleeve has a cable-proximal end edge formed with at least one protrusion projecting in an axial direction in the direction of the cable to establish an expanding mandrel.Type: GrantFiled: April 19, 2001Date of Patent: August 13, 2002Assignee: Spinner GmbH Elektrotechnische FabrikInventor: Franz Pitschi

Patent number: 3970355Abstract: An outer sleeve with connector socket are slipped onto the bared end of a coaxial cable whereby a clamping sleeve with axial slot and conical head is spread radially. The clamping sleeve is resiliently biased so that its head engages a tapered control surface in the outer sleeve tending to clamp the clamping sleeve against the cable end. Frictional engagement of the cable end reinforces that clamping action. The head may either grip the bared outer conductor or an insulation jacket on the cable. The rear portion of the clamping sleeve makes electric contact with the outer conductor of the cable and has contact fingers for making sliding connection with the socket.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 1974Date of Patent: July 20, 1976Assignee: Spinner GmbH, Elektrotechnische FabrikInventor: Franz Pitschi
