The axes of the receiving mounts (2, 10) are disposed at an angle of 90.degree. relative to one another. Flexural elements exert a prestress on the fixed setting drift (8, 13).

    Abstract: A cartridge for use in an extension tool is arranged to receive one or more foil bags containing a single component or a multi-component mass and is formed of a cylinder (3) defining one or more receiving chambers (13) open at the opposite ends thereof. An axially displaceable piston (5) has opposite end faces (5b, 5c) extending across the cylinder (3) and each end face is symmetrical about its axis. The end faces of the piston can be used alternately for dispensing the mass out of the one or more foil bags.

    Abstract: The retention value of a screw previously inserted into a wooden railroad tie is increased by an axially extending sleeve ( 20 ) having an external thread ( 24 ) and an internal thread (25). The thread revolutions of the internal thread (25) are offset axially by half (h) the thread pitch (H) of the external thread (24). Due to this offset of the threads, the screw is positioned in the sleeve so that its threads are located between the external thread revolutions affording a new retention, while the external thread (24) seats within the thread previously formed in the wooden railroad tie by the screw.

    Abstract: An expansion dowel is formed of an axially elongated expansion member and an expansion element insertable into a bore through the expansion member. The expansion member has two axially extending first slots located diametrically opposite one another and open at one end of the member. Two axially extending second slots are located in the expansion member offset circumferentially by 90.degree. from the first slots. The second slots are closed at their opposite ends. The first and second slots partially overlap in the axial direction, so that the expansion member is radially expandable in the overlapping region of the slots, while the expansion element is prevented from moving off center during the expanding operation.

    Abstract: A tool (1) for extracting expansion sleeves (2) of expansion anchor assembles includes an axially extending tubular shaft with a conical external thread (1b) at its leading end to be inserted into a borehole (9) in a structural member (3). The external thread tapers inwardly to the leading end. At its trailing end the shaft (1a) has a force applying member or members. The shaft (1a) has a central axially extending through hole (1d) for laterally enclosing an anchor bolt (4). After the expansion sleeve is relieved of expanding force by hammering the anchor bolt (4) into the borehole, the external thread (1b) on the extracting tool (1) is screwed into a gap between the anchor bolt (4) and the expansion sleeve (2). External thread (1b) cuts into the inner wall (2b) of the expansion sleeve (2) as the extracting tool is screwed in and, as a result, forms a positively locked connection with the expansion sleeve.

    Abstract: An axially extending sleeve (1), for use as an anchor secured by grout or a hardenable mass in a blind bore (2a) in a structural component (2), has an outside surface with a radially outwardly projection extending in the axial direction of the sleeve. The sleeve has a closed first end leading in the insertion direction and a trailing second end. The projection extends from the second end in the axial direction toward the first end. An elastic layer (3) is placed over the surface of the structural component containing the bore and a hole (3a) in the elastic layer is aligned with the bore in the component. When the sleeve (1) is inserted into the bore (2a), the projection (1d) forms a passageway through the elastic layer, so that air and excess grout can escape from the bore through the elastic layer.

    Abstract: A device for setting an anchor rod (3) in a borehole includes a housing (4) and a socket (5). The socket (5) is made up of a sleeve (6) and a liner (7). The sleeve (6) is rotatable relative to the housing (4) and the liner (7). The liner (7) is in threaded engagement with the anchor rod (3) by a standard thread and with the sleeve (6) by a fine pitch thread (6c). Due to the fine pitch thread engagement of the sleeve (6) and the liner (7), by rotating the sleeve (6), which remains axially stationary, the liner (7) and the anchor rod (3) are moved axially with the anchor and also moving axially relative to an expansion sleeve (2) so that the expansion sleeve (2) is expanded into an undercut in the borehole.

    Abstract: An anchoring unit is made up of a screen-type sleeve and an insert sleeve to be placed into the screen-type sleeve. The unit is anchored by a hardenable mass. After the screen-type sleeve is inserted into a borehole in a structure with internal open spaces, the hardenable mass is injected into the screen-type sleeve. When the insert sleeve is placed into the screen-type sleeve, the hardenable mass is forced outwardy through openings in the screen-type sleeve into the open spaces in the structure. The two sleeves each have an inside surface and an outside surface with alternating projecting surfaces and recessed surfaces to facilitate a positive lock with the hardenable mass. Further, the alternating surfaces improve the distribution of the hardenable mass. Preferably, the two sleeves are formed of a plastics material. A fastening element can be inserted into the insert sleeve for securing an object to the structure.

    Abstract: An expansion dowel assembly consists of an axially extending sleeve and a spreading element. Tongues are pivotally displaceably connected to the sleeve and are located one after the other along the axial direction of the sleeve. The tongues are split in the axial directions and can be pivoted inwardly and outwardly relative to the sleeve. Lugs are formed on the radially inner surface of the tongues and project axially beyond one end of the tongues. The lugs afford axial support for the tongues pivoted outwardly relative to the outside surface of the sleeve. The spreading element holds the tongues in the outwardly pivoted condition so that the tongues provide a mechanical lock for the sleeve within a hollow space within a structural member.

    Abstract: An expansion dowel is formed of an axially elongated sleeve with expansion tongues connected to it so that they can be pivoted radially outwardly projecting from the outside surface of the sleeve. Each of the tongues has a radially directed projection in the unexpanded position with the projection having a dimension transverse to the axial direction of the sleeve greater than the sleeve thickness. To provide an anchoring effect, the tongues can be displaced radially outwardly from the sleeve by an expanding member movable through the borehole formed by the sleeve. In the radially outwardly pivoted position the tongues interlock. Webs connected to the tongues provide an articulated connection between the tongue and the sleeve. The pivot axis formed by the webs extend normal to the axis of the sleeve.

With the drilling axis located, the drilling member can be moved into the active position to commence drilling.

    Abstract: In a device for the melting and measured discharge of a thermoplastic adhesive material, a melting chamber is enclosed by a heating coil. The adhesive material in solid rod form is supplied into the melting chamber through a sealing sleeve formed of a material such as polytetrafluoroethylene (TEFLON). A heating element is mounted on the bearing sleeve adjacent the melting chamber to heat up the sleeve and the material within it to a desired temperature. A switch or other member is connected to the heating element on the sleeve for discontinuing its supply of heat to the sleeve when the desired temperature is reached. The part of the sealing sleeve on the opposite side of the heating element from the melting chamber can be provided with some structure to dissipate or block the flow of heat through the sealing sleeve away from the melting chamber.

    Abstract: In a device for melting a body of a solid thermoplastic adhesive material, a melting chamber is positioned within a housing and a feed apparatus moves the solid body in a step-wise fashion through the housing into the chamber. The feed apparatus includes a slidable carriage with a pair of separate clamping jaws within the carriage. A rocker lever is pivotally mounted on the housing and is articulated to the clamping jaws. When a trigger or pushbutton on the housing is pressed inwardly, it pivots the rocker arm and initially displaces the clamping jaws inwardly into clamping contact with the solid body and then moves the carriage, the clamping jaws and the clamping body toward the melting chamber.
