  • Patent number: 6129889
Abstract: The invention concerns a gas purging bottom for metallurgical vessels, the gas purging bottom comprising a monolithic refractory ceramic lining having channels formed therein by chemical or physical processes. At their ends associated with an adjacent vessel wall, the channels are designed for direct or indirect fluid connection to a gas supply pipe. At their other ends the channels lead into the corresponding outer layer of the refractory ceramic lining.

  • Patent number: 5914368
Abstract: The description relates to vinyl alcohol copolymers which can be produced by the acid-catalysed acetalisation reaction of polyvinyl alcohols with a degree of saponification of 80-99.5 mol % and preferably between 88 and 99.5 mol % with natural substances or their derivatives containing carbonyl or presumptive carbonyl groups. The description also relates to water-soluble films containing such vinyl alcohol copolymers, the solubility of which can be adjusted to the desired solution temperature. Said water-soluble films are used as packaging materials and auxiliaries, e.g. in the form of sealing lacquers.

  • Patent number: 5628939
Abstract: A process for producing fireproof, carbon-containing ceramic moldings in which an oxidic fireproof matrix material with a carbon-containing component and a polymer compound is mixed together to form a mixture, and in which the mixture is processed into moldings. The moldings subsequently are heat-treated.

  • Patent number: 5184771
Abstract: The invention concerns an essentially hermetic wrapping, in particular a tubular pouch wrapping, comprising two strip-like edge zones of the wrap material that are joined together by sealing, and two incisions 4, 18, 24, 28 are present in at least one of the two said edge zones, the wrap material forming a grip tab between said two incisions by means of which a tear-open region is pulled off when the wrapping is being opened.

  • Patent number: 5030302
Abstract: Method for the production of a compound foil as an endless strip, the compound foil to be processed in the form of rectangular blanks covering a width of the endless strip characterized in that two different foil strips, of which a first strip contains an aluminum foil (4) or a paper are drawn through a lamination machine with tractive forces to overcome friction losses in the machine, these tractive forces producing different elongations in said two different foil strips, that one of the endless strips is provided at one side surface with a binding agent over a connecting surface, which consists of several partial areas (3, 13) separated from each other, that the two strips are connected to each other while the both strips being elastically stretched to different elongations as the strips are drawn through the lamination machine whereby after the two foil strips coming back again to their non-stretched starting state, that surfaces of the blanks each have one central area and two margin areas (9, 12) borderi

  • Patent number: 4220484
Abstract: A process for the preparation of an improved base for offset printing plates comprising superimposing together two prerolled aluminum ribbons with an individual thickness of 0.12 to 0.5 mm, rolling the said superimposed ribbons to an individual ribbon thickness of 0.08 to 0.22 mm whereby the mutual contact surfaces have an uniform surface roughness, separating the two ribbons and forming a stable aluminum oxide layer on the uniformly roughened surfaces which have improved properties when used as a base for offset printing plates.
