  • Patent number: 4855473
Abstract: The present invention relates to the preparation of organooxychlorosilanes. They are produced by reacting the corresponding chlorosilane with an alcohol in the presence of a catalyst system consisting of hydrogen chloride and a cocatalyst.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 8, 1987
Date of Patent: August 8, 1989
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Thomas Wurminghausen, Karl Schneider, Franz Saykowski, Hans G. Frohlen
  • Patent number: 4588770
Abstract: A silicone composition which is stable in the absence of moisture but which in the presence of water will cure at room temperature to an elastomer, comprising a polyorganosiloxane having reactive end groups, a polyester and a thickening filler.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 21, 1984
Date of Patent: May 13, 1986
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Thomas Wurminghausen, Franz Saykowski, Hans Sattlegger
  • Patent number: 4585849
Abstract: In a polydiorganosilixane composition which is capable of storage in the absence of moisture and can be cured at ambient temperature under the action of water or moisture to give elastomers, the composition comprising a diorganosiloxane having reactive terminal groups, a diorganosilane having groups which are sensitive to hydrolysis, a cross-linking agent, and optionally fillers which have a thixotropic effect, condensation catalysts and/or other known auxiliaries, the improvement which comprises employing as the silane (a) a silane of the formulaRR.sup.1 Si(NR.sup.2 R.sup.3).sub.2plus (b) an organosilane of the formulaRSi (O--N.dbd.R.sup.4).sub.3in whichR, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 each independently is alkyl, aryl, aralkyl and vinyl groups, orR.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together can be an alkanediyl radical having up to 8 C atoms or hydrogen, andR.sup.4 is an R.sup.2 R.sup.3 C group having up to 8 C atoms.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4554187
Abstract: A silicone emulsion which can be converted into an elastomeric product under ambient conditions by eliminating and evaporating water and alcohol or carboxylic acid, comprising by weight approximately(A) 100 parts of a hydroxyl-terminated polydiorganosiloxane having a molecular weight of at least about 50,000,(B) 1 to 400 parts of a low molecular weight, reactive acyloxy or alkoxy-functional silicone resin,(C) 0.1 to 20 parts of a catalytic compound,(D) 0 to 200 parts of a thixotropic filler and(E) 0 to 200 parts by weight of a non-thixotropic filler, the silicone emulsion having a solids content of about 20 to 85% by weight. The emulsion is especially suited for coatings and sealants.
