  • Publication number: 20240039364
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a covering, such as a casing, for a component of an electrical drive system. Components of this kind are, for example, the electric motor or the inverter of an electric motor. Both the inverter and the electric motor itself generate noise at high frequencies, for instance between 6 kHz and 12 kHz, due to the switch elements used in them. These noises should not escape to the exterior because they are disruptive in terms of both frequency and volume. The present disclosure shows a cover for absorbing these noises, that is cost-effective and can be arranged close to the electric motor and its components.

  • Publication number: 20150260075
Abstract: The present invention relates to a heat shield for shielding of hot areas of a part. Such heat shields are for instance used for shielding hot areas of combustion engines, especially of catalysts, exhaust manifolds, turbo chargers and the like or also in the conditioning of batteries. Conventionally, they comprise at least one metallic sheet layer. In addition to this metal sheet layer, which renders stability to the heat shield, typically an insulating layer made of insulating material, e.g. porous material is provided as a further layer.

  • Patent number: 8316516
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mounting device having a metallic base plate, from which multiple projections project, and a method for manufacturing this mounting device. The mounting device may be obtained by cutting multiple hook preforms into the surface of the base plate while leaving at least one bending edge per hook preform. Furthermore, hook-like projections are manufactured by bending the hook preforms out of the base plate around the bending edge and possibly lateral protrusions are manufactured on the projections or these are twisted.

Abstract: An insulating isolator for a heat shield has a unitary first land, a bead portion, a second land and a half bead. The first land defines a fastener aperture. In one case, a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart petals is formed in the isolator. The petals may be separated by gaps. In another case, a set of circumferentially spaced apart apertures are formed in the isolator. The heat shield may have at least two disk apertures. Two metallic disks are located in the area of at least one of the two disk apertures. The metallic disks are connected to each other, have aligned fastener openings that are smaller than the disk apertures and they are smaller than the metallic sheet.
