  • Patent number: 5099534
Abstract: The invention relates to a process of preparing "one off effect" dyeings on paper or textile material comprising:passing (preferably drawing) the material continuously through an application zone containing a number of loosely-packed applicator elements, which elements contact and can apply treatment medium to the material in response to the motion of the material, the applicator elements being continuously or intermittently contacted with a treatment medium (preferably a solution containing a dyestuff or etching compound), whereby the "one off effect" is produced by the passage of the material under or through the elements, onto which the medium has been applied.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 26, 1990
Date of Patent: March 31, 1992
    Assignee: Sandoz, Ltd.
Inventors: Oskar Annen, Ernst Schnider, Franz Somm
  • Patent number: 4286961
Abstract: The present invention relates to an after-dyeing treatment process for synthetic/cellulosic fibre mixed substrates which have been dyed with at least one disperse and at least one reactive dye in which after fixation, the dyed or printed substrate is reductively treated at a neutral to alkaline pH with an aqueous solution containing reducing agent, whereby non-bound disperse dyestuff is decomposed such that it does not re-build up on the substrate whilst the fixed reactive dyestuff remains substantially unaffected.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 2, 1979
Date of Patent: September 1, 1981
    Assignee: Sandoz Ltd.
Inventors: Rolf Buser, Francis Palacin, Georg Robert, Franz Somm
  • Patent number: 4264323
Abstract: Disclosed are stable, concentrated, aqueous dyestuff preparations comprising water, an anionic dispersing agent and at least one cold-dyeing water soluble fibre reactive dye, said dye having an average particle diameter of less that 20 .mu., other optional constituents being one or more disperse dyes, acid, such as acetic acid, to adjust the pH of the preparation to a preferred value of 4 to 6, and organic solvents. The preparations are useful for the convenient production of dyebaths for dyeing substrates containing a fibre reactive dyeable component.

    Assignee: Sandoz Ltd.
Inventors: Miro Capponi, Urs Ruf, Franz Somm
  • Patent number: 4185962
Abstract: A dyeing or printing process for substrates consisting of synthetic or semi-synthetic, high molecular organic substances of hydrophobic character, performed with an organic dyestuff which is dispersed in a liquid organic compound containing a dissolved alkyd resin acting as a dispersing agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 30, 1975
Date of Patent: January 29, 1980
    Assignee: Sandoz Ltd.
Inventors: Hans Gerber, Erwin Grueninger, Werner Koch, Franz Somm
  • Patent number: 3968571
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for the removal of liquid from an absorbent substrate, comprising passing the substrate through the nip between a pair of rollers, at least one of said rollers having an effective surface of a sponge material, the sponge material having capillary pores, the average diameter of which is less than 1 mm and at least 50% of said pores having a diameter in the range of 0.1 to 0.001 mm, the pressure applied at the nip between said rollers being less than 1 kg per cm roller length.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 13, 1976
    Assignee: Sandoz Ltd.
    Inventors: Christian Oschatz, Franz Somm
