  • Patent number: 4447209
Abstract: An implant is disclosed for securing a base to be anchored in a jaw bone and formed by two substantially cylindrical hollow sleeves open on both their ends, and an also hollow portion of a pin. The other portion of pin projecting beyond the base forms a column intended for supporting a denture. The outer surfaces of the sleeves are provided with grooves which are distributed over the circumference. At the side remote from the column, the grooves do not extend up to the respective end face of the sleeve, so that at these locations the grooves shallow out by end faces which are capable of transmitting axial pressures occurring in an implant inserted in a jaw. The grooves also contribute to a uniform circumferential distribution of forces which are to be transmitted in a direction transverse to the column axis. With the sleeves open also on the column side, only little bone material over growth is needed for covering the sleeves.

  • Patent number: 4388921
Abstract: A plate bearing against a bone has a number of clearance holes with sleeves. Openings provided in the sleeves include each a section diverging away from the bone and bounded by a conical surface. The sleeves are subdivided into tongues by means of slots cut into the free face of the collar. A screw is screwed into the bone at every clearance hole, the head of the screw being bounded by a conical or convex surface. By tightening the screw the tongues are forced apart by the head of the screw, thus clamping the sleeve in relation to the plate. This provides a guarantee, that the plate will stay rigidly connected with the screws, even if a reabsorption of bone takes place. Some of the sleeves comprise clamping parts excentric in relation to the screw axes, enabling the surgeon to press the bone pieces against each other.

  • Patent number: 4341206
Abstract: A tool for forming a stepped blind hole in bone for receipt of a fracture reducing and stabilizing surgical implant. The tool comprises a small diameter drill portion axially adjustable with respect to a larger diameter reamer portion. A conical portion includes cutting surfaces to chamfer the entrance of the hole and also includes non-cutting portions which serve to limit penetration of the tool into the bone. The tool is cannulated to allow its use in conjunction with a previously installed Kirschner guide wire.

  • Patent number: 4338076
Abstract: An oil burner comprises an oil conveying device, an air blower and a burner head, the burner head including a substantially cylindrical burner tube having an outlet orifice at one end, the burner tube tapering towards the orifice, a burner nozzle situated in the burner tube and having a plurality of supporting arms, and a baffle plate attached to and supported by the supporting arms of the burner nozzle. The burner nozzle is tapered towards an end of the outlet orifice of the burner tube to form a frustoconical end zone at the front end thereof. The baffle plate is of a cup shape and is arranged in the burner tube in front of the burner nozzle with the interior thereof pointing to the outlet orifice of the burner tube.

  • Patent number: 4332036
Abstract: A prosthesis for forming the spherical part of a hip joint with a calotte-shaped cap is disclosed. The inner surface of the prosthesis is provided with grooves and ribs which are evenly distributed over the circumference of the inner surface and extend along planes which, in turn, extend through the rotational symmetry axis of the outer cap surface. A sleeve having jacket is provided with holes is rigidly secured at the inner end of the inner cap surface on the cap and projects partly out of the latter. The ribbing of the inner cap surface and the sleeve permit the prosthesis to be firmly and durably secured in an operation on the bone without cement.

  • Patent number: 4320875
Abstract: A burner nozzle comprises an outer body (21) having a longitudinal hole (21a) therethrough. Screwed into the hole is a pin (27) applying by one of its ends against a vortex body (25) and pressing the latter into contact with the inner front side of a nozzle body (21) having a nozzle orifice (23a). The vortex body (25) is provided with channels which connect an annular cavity (43) surrounding the vortex body (25) to a vortex pocket (45). The pin (27) is provided with an oblong hole (27g) for the fuel supply. In the vicinity of the vortex body (25), this oblong hole (27g) communicates, through radial bores (27h), with another annular cavity (41) which is bounded by the inside surface of the outer body (21) and by an annular groove (27c) provided in the pin (27). The pin portion (27d) extending between the two annular cavities is provided with a circular row of grooves having a sectional area which is smaller than that of the vortex body channels.

  • Patent number: 4180910
Abstract: An implant for fixing an artificial replacement tooth to a jaw bone comprises a post for firmly holding the replacement tooth and at least two hollow cylindrical bodies. The bodies have mutually parallel axes, are rigidly connected to the post and open at one axial end. The cylindrical wall of each body is intended to be inserted into the jaw bone and is provided with means defining passages through which the jaw bone can grow to secure the implant to the jaw. A group of teeth may be fixed to the jaw by the use of a bridge and two or more implants.
