  • Patent number: 8733359
Abstract: The invention concerns a collar with a tracheotomy cannula or tube, wherein the collar embraces a respiratory tube in sealing relationship. The collar comprises separate inner and outer films, the outer film being elastically stretchable. The collar of the device allows no or only small tight folds formed which do not affect sealing integrity between the collar and the trachea wall even at low pressures. The outer film is expandable to a diameter larger than the diameter of a trachea, and in particular is at least 1.5 times the outside diameter of the tube, and the inner film comprises a material of lower elastic stretching. The inner film is produced oversized and without an external restriction at an internal pressure of at most 20 hPa assumes a diameter which is larger than the diameter of a trachea.

  • Patent number: 7699055
Abstract: A tracheotomy cannula apparatus with a shield plate is provided for fixedly gripping the cannula with a housing assembly portion of the apparatus. A pair of wing structures form a portion of the apparatus and are attached to the housing assembly, which wing structures assist in holding the cannual apparatus to a patient. The housing assembly includes a housing member through which the cannual is passed. A shield plate is affixed to one side of the housing member, which side is intended to face a patient, and whereby the cannula passing through the housing member also passes through the shield plate. A prestressed spring structure is positioned within a housing member to normally apply pressure against the cannula, thereby holding it in fixed relationship to the housing member. This spring structure has a release actuation member which when operated permits a slide movement of the cannula through the housing member.

  • Publication number: 20100006102
Abstract: The present invention concerns a collar (10) of a respiratory device, in particular a tracheotomy cannula (100) or an endotracheal tube, wherein the collar (10) embraces a respiratory tube and is fixed thereto in sealing relationship and the collar comprises an inner film (1) and an outer film (2), wherein the inner and the outer films are separate from each other and the outer film comprises an elastically easily stretchable material.

  • Publication number: 20030034036
Abstract: The Invention relates to a tracheotomy cannula, comprising a pipe- or tube-shaped element for passing the cannula through a throat or trachea incision into the trachea of a patient whose upper airways are blocked, so as to supply said patient with air through the cannula. A shield is attached to the cannula which rests against the neck of the patient and in so doing determines the position of the cannula or of the end of the cannula in the trachea of the patient. To create a tracheotomy cannula having the above features which can be easily adjusted to fit the anatomical characteristics of a patient and requires no special effort regarding the stock-keeping and adjustment of the tracheotomy cannulas, the invention provides for the shield to be fixably attached to the cannula in various positions in the longitudinal direction of the cannula.

  • Patent number: 6053167
Abstract: A tracheostomy cannula for use in a tracheostoma is described, which is provided with a hose-like outer cannula into which an inner cannula, which is also hose-like, can be guided and can be locked to the outer cannula at the proximal part in order to form a cannula tube, wherein a cannula plate (3) for application to the neck is fitted in the proximal area of the outer cannula (1), through which the proximal part of the outer cannula reaches (1). It is proposed that the cannula tube is mounted so that it is pivotable about at least two spatial axes (X, Y) with respect to the cannula plate (3).
