  • Patent number: 5016525
Abstract: An air passage or outlet for imparting a spin flow to air passing therethrough, is economically produced of only two basic sheet metal components. The sheet metal has a good fire resistance capability and can be easily coated with an individual paint color. One sheet metal component is a sheet metal plate (4) with punched-out tongue-shaped air guide vanes (2) that are arranged at a spacing concentrically around a central axis perpendicular to the plane of the plate (4). A central hub area (3) remains connected to an outer area of plate (4) by spoke-type lands separating the air flow holes. The other sheet metal component of the air passage is a connector piece (5) having, e.g., a cylindrical neck (6) surrounded at its lower end by a collar (7). The inner diameter of the connector piece (5) is so dimensioned that radially outer edges of the guide vanes (2) are held in place by a press-fit against the inner sides of the cylindrical neck of the connector piece (5).

  • Patent number: 5014609
Abstract: An inductive air passage with a high fire resistance capability, that is easily paint coatable, and that can be economically produced, is made of die stamped sheet metal components. A slot-shaped inlet opening (1) is formed in a first sheet metal component and two outlet openings (2) are formed in a second sheet metal component. A baffle barrier (4) fits between the outlet openings (2). The two sheet metal components form plates (5, 6) and frames for the inlet opening (1) and for the outlet openings (2), respectively. One sheet metal plate (5) for the inlet opening (1) is provided with an I-shaped slit, whereby each of two curved lips (8) are produced by bending the lands formed by the I-slit toward one of the outlet openings (2). The other sheet-metal plate (6) has two U-shaped slits providing respective lands for forming tongues for defining the outlet openings (2). The tongues produced by the U-slits are angled toward the inlet opening (1) and toward the bent-over edges of the curved lips.

  • Patent number: 4523609
Abstract: A volume flow or pressure regulating device is described which is especially suitable for air conditioning or air heating systems. The device transmits a torque moment function onto the flap control shaft in response to the flap angle. The device includes primarily a shaft (2) which is rotatably supported and extends through a conduit (3) in which the flap is mounted on the shaft which cooperates with a curved cam disk (10). One end of a tension cable (9) is secured to a circumferential point of the cam disk and the other end of the tension cable (9) is secured to the free end of a bending spring 6, the opposite end of which is secured to a fixed point. An adjustable tensioning member (7) defines, in accordance with its position relative to the length of the bending spring (6) the effective or bendable length of the bending spring (6).

  • Patent number: 4449549
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved shuttering device for preventing back-flow in air conduits or the like. The device includes an attachment section and a frame section, the latter being provided with a series of elastic lamellae shiftable between blocking and unblocking positions within the frame, the frame having in addition guide plates extending axially of the conduit to prevent transverse currents.
