    Abstract: Disclosed is an airbag cover (10) for an airbag (1), comprising a flap (2) which is opened when the airbag (1) is triggered. The flap (2) is coupled to a trim part (6) of the trim panel (3) of the passenger compartment by means of a connecting element (5). The connecting element (5) comprises at least one hinge (7) having several hinge axes (X, Y) and which is suitable for diverting part of the actuating forces of the airbag (1) acting in the direction of opening (B) towards a force component (FQ) perpendicular to the direction of opening (B).
