  • Patent number: 7479253
Abstract: A flat-shaped functional overlay for at least one region of a flat-shaped flexible object which does not form a fold when the sandwich composed of the flexible object and overlay is bent towards the side on which the overlay is located is described. The overlay is composed of one or several flat-shaped overlays which are attached to the flexible object in such a way that a part of their surface can move freely relative to the surface of the object covered by this part in the direction of curvature produced when the object is bent. In addition diagnostic test strips are described which have such an overlay.

  • Patent number: 7454162
Abstract: Changes of properties (for example, dampness, sliding characteristic, gloss) of a printing substrate web caused by a printing of a printing substrate web are corrected by a multifunction device that is arranged at an output of the printing device. In the multifunction device, arranged in succession in the transport direction of the printing substrate web are devices for buffering, for smoothing, for moistening, for cooling, for lubrication and for discharge of the printing substrate web. The devices are executed and adapted to one another such that they can be optionally deactivated by the uses without affecting the functions of the remaining devices.

  • Patent number: 7421242
Abstract: A device for post-processing of printed print substrate webs comprises a smoothing device that is arranged immediately after the fixing device. The toner (still hot and doughy in terms of its consistency) is compressed with a predetermined pressure over a width of the print substrate web. It is thus achieved that less abrasion of the toner occurs in the further process and a specifically altered print image is generated.

  • Patent number: 7376383
Abstract: In an electrophotographic printer or copier, toner images of images to be printed onto a printing substrate are generated and fixed, causing sliding characteristics to be worsened. In order to remedy this problem, a moistening device is provided that applies on the printing substrate a moistening agent made from a moistening fluid and a lubricant dissolved therein. Two problems are thus solved: the printing substrate is moistened and simultaneously lubricated.

Abstract: An aqueous control liquid is provided that contains glucose at a known concentration and cyclodextrin. A method is also provided that binds a wetting agent from a region of a test element that comes into contact with a sample. The method includes contacting the region with a control liquid that has a substance selected from the group of cyclodextrin derivatives and dispersed materials having a specific surface of 100 m2/g to over 1000 m2/g. A method for controlling the function of a measuring system having test strips and a measuring instrument for the determination of glucose in liquid samples is provided that includes contacting the test strip with a control liquid containing glucose at a known concentration and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of cyclodextrins and cyclodextrin derivatives and detecting a signal caused by the glucose contained in the control liquid.

  • Patent number: 6072978
Abstract: A printer or copier which operates by transfer printing has a fixing roller for affixing toner to the recording medium. A release agent, or parting oil, is applied to the roller by a dosing tube having openings through which the release agent flows to a wick. An application element is moved over the roller between the wick and the roller for cleaning and application of the release agent. The wick is held in guide elements and the lower guide element has a duct for collecting excess release agent and applying it to the application element.

  • Patent number: 6067247
Abstract: A three-transistor SRAM memory cell includes a bistable field-effect transistor having a fully depleted floating channel region and a hysteretic gate voltage characteristic curve. The bistable field-effect transistor has a gate to be connected to a first bit line for the purpose of writing to the memory cell and a second channel terminal to be connected to a second bit line for the purpose of reading from the memory cell. The two bit lines can be identical. The connection between the bit lines and the bistable transistor can be effected through first and second respective transistors which are each controlled by a respective word line.

  • Patent number: 4711564
Abstract: In the cleaning station of an electrophotographic printer, the stripper element is driven with the assistance of a cable roller arranged outside of a stripping chamber. The cable roller arranged in alignment with the through openings for the traction cable comprises guide grooves for the traction cable on its generated surface, these guide grooves proceeding left-hand or right-hand in a plurality of spirals or turns. Via a thread, the cable roller is arranged on a stationary rotational axis which has the same characteristic as the guide grooves in terms of direction and pitch or slope. As a result thereof, the traction cable is conducted on a straight line through the seals of the stripping chamber at a constant angle given movement of the cable roller.
