  • Patent number: 5348162
Abstract: A machine for sorting refuse comprises a rotatable drum (1) having several succeeding processing stations (5, 6, 7) located between an inlet (3) and an outlet (4) and each including one or more rotatable shafts (8) the circumferential surfaces of which are equipped with goods-processing projections and which are mounted at openings in the wall of the drum, the processing projections being adapted to cooperate with the edge portions of the drum wall defining the openings, so as to bring about a processing action on goods fed from the inlet towards the outlet. The processing projections of the shafts (8) in a first station (5) most adjacent the inlet (3) are smaller than the corresponding processing projections in the following station (6) in order, in said first station, to separate fine goods, while allowing coarser goods, during the feed of the goods from the inlet towards the outlet along the bottom of the drum, to pass on for separation in a succeeding station or stations.

  • Patent number: 4949916
Abstract: A device for disintegrating material, such as waste, comprising a rotatable drum (30) having an inlet opening (10) and one or more outlet openings, and a counterbody (32) disposed inside the drum, one or more helical members (31) being provided on the inside of the drum and adapted to convey, during rotation of the drum, the material received in the drum in a downward direction towards a gap (33) between the outside of the counterbody and the inside of the drum. At least an upper part (32') of the counterbody tapers towards the inlet opening (10) and a polygonal, e.g. hexagonal, in cross-section, one or more helical or inclined counterblades (34) being arranged on the outside of said upper part (32').

  • Patent number: 4693287
Abstract: A delimbing device which includes a rotatably mounted drum (13) within which a number of processing devices are mounted for mechanically processing a bundle of stems with twigs in order to limb and preferably also feed said stems longitudinally through the drum. Each processing device consists of at least one rotating member (16, 17) mounted on the inner side of the drum and accompanying the drum rotation. This rotating member comprises one or more tearing, cutting and/or shearing tools, for example screws (16, 17) adapted to remove limbs by cutting.
