  • Publication number: 20250025816
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rotor for a separator apparatus. The rotor having an axis of rotation and comprising an inlet operable to receive an effluent stream, an annular skirt defining a centrifugal separator operable to separate the effluent stream, the centrifugal separator having a gas outlet in first direction and a waste outlet in a second direction. A surface of the annular skirt is angled towards the axis of rotation of the rotor, such that during rotation of the rotor, non-gaseous matter in the effluent stream is biased towards the waste outlet by contact with said surface. The invention also relates to a separator apparatus comprising such a rotor, a method of treating an effluent stream, and a method of designing a rotor.

  • Patent number: 12158266
Abstract: An abatement method is disclosed. The method comprises: supplying a combustion chamber of an abatement apparatus with an effluent stream containing a perfluoro compound, together with combustion reagents and a diluent; heating a combustion zone of said combustion chamber by reacting said combustion reagents to perform abatement of said perfluoro compound to stable by-products, said diluent being selected to remain inert during said abatement. In this way, the perfluoro or other compound is abated in the combustion chamber during the combustion of the combustion reagents, but without creating undesirable compounds such as, for example, NOx or other compounds.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 21, 2019
Date of Patent: December 3, 2024
    Assignee: Edwards Limited

  • Patent number: 9277636
Abstract: To lengthen the service period on DC plasma abatement devices a modified DC plasma torch is provided with an electrically conductive cathode and an electrically conductive anode spaced apart from one another to form a gap therebetween; a metal swirl bush at least partially located within the gap and comprising a channel adapted to permit, in use, a gas to flow through the gap; and a ceramic element interposed between any one or more of: the cathode and the swirl bush; and the anode and the swirl bush.
