  • Publication number: 20210181823
Abstract: One embodiment provides a method, including: obtaining, using at least one sensor, a value related to a current overall power consumption for an electronic device; calculating, using a processor, a forecasted heat value calculated from the current overall power consumption, wherein the forecasted heat value indicates an expected value of heat for a region of the electronic device, wherein the calculating comprises correlating the current overall power consumption to a forecasted heat value; and proactively cooling, based upon a fan control algorithm, the electronic device prior to a sensor detecting a temperature corresponding to the expected value of heat, wherein the proactively cooling comprises adjusting a speed of one or more fans located within the electronic device based on the calculated heat value.

  • Patent number: 9152192
Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and systems are disclosed for a power supply adapted to receive power from an outlet, the power input having a property, such as amperage, frequency or voltage. An indicator is provided on the connector to the power cord to indicate a value for the property to the power supply, wherein the power supply adapts to the value for the property. By providing an indication of the property the system is capable of reducing functionality to meet the capabilities of the power supply. A power cord may be provided with a male plug at one end capable of being inserted into a socket with a minimum value for a property, and the other end of the power cord may have a connector with an indicator to identify the minimum value for the power cord.

Abstract: A pulping process comprises using a high concentration of anthraquinone (AQ). The pulping process is capable of providing a pulp having low Kappa number with unexpectedly high strength. The pulping process can use wood or non-wood fibers (e.g., bagasse and corn stover) to provide pulp having good papermaking quality. The method for pulping a fiber comprising cooking a first mixture comprising the fibers, water, an alkali, and a delignification selectivity enhancing chemical for a cooking time and at a cooking condition sufficient to form a first pulp having a desired Kappa number of about 15 or less, and strength parameters that are sufficient for papermaking, where the starting material prior to cooking has a Kappa number of 60 or greater.

  • Publication number: 20110245991
Abstract: A computer system retrieves a performance value that corresponds to a first fan's performance, which is controlled by a first fan controller. Next, the computer system generates a control setting based upon the retrieved performance value. In turn, a second fan controller controls a second fan based upon the generated control setting. In one embodiment, the first fan controller is an automatic fan controller and the second fan controller is a manual fan controller.
