  • Publication number: 20160183839
Abstract: The invention provides a device for detecting non-cavitated caries lesions, including a measuring electrode having an electrically conductive tip. The tip is dimensionally configured to fit within a fissure and provide electrical contact with a patient's tooth. A reference electrode is also included, the reference electrode being configured for electrical contact with the patient's body. A measuring means is also provided for determining electrical conductance between the measuring electrode and the reference electrode, wherein the device is further configured to receive a current source for providing electrical current between the measuring electrode and the reference electrode.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 7, 2016
    Publication date: June 30, 2016
Inventors: Israel Kleinberg, Fred Confessore, Robi Chatterjee

  • Patent number: 4711851
Abstract: A tester can determine a metabolic characteristic of a microorganism suspended in a medium. The tester has a reagent supply, a probe, a dispenser and a controller. The reagent supply contains a quantity of at least one test reagent. The probe is sized to be inserted into the medium and for providing a reaction signal signifying the temperature of a fluid at the probe means. The dispenser is coupled between the reagent supply and the probe for delivering at the latter from the former a controllable amount of test reagent. The controller is coupled to the probe and to the dispenser for controlling the amount of test reagent dispensed by the dispenser and recording the variation of the reaction signal after delivery of the test reagent.
