Patent number: 6941946Abstract: An air and water hose apparatus for use in an air supply system for firefighters. The air and water hose apparatus has an air hose completely within the water hose. The air and water hose apparatus comprises only a single length of the overall water hose of the system. This ensures that no part of the air hose is exposed to possible damage. The system supplies high pressure air to the firefighters. The system allows for easy connect and disconnect of the air and water hose apparatus to the firefighter's mask and preferably can be used with standard self-contained breathing apparatus having a mask and a regulator. A branched conduit allows several firefighters to be attached to a single air and water hose apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2003Date of Patent: September 13, 2005Inventor: Fred E. Baker

Patent number: 6520178Abstract: An air and water hose apparatus (10 or 210) for use in an air supply system (100) for firefighters (150). The air and water hose apparatus has an air hose (32 or 232) completely within the water hose (12 or 212). The air and water hose apparatus comprises only a single length of the overall water hose of the system. This ensures that no part of the air hose is exposed to possible damage. The system supplies high pressure air to the firefighters. The system allows for easy connect and disconnect of the air and water hose apparatus to the firefighter's mask (160) and preferably can be used with standard self-contained breathing apparatus (152) having a mask and a regulator (158). A branched conduit (46) allows several firefighters to be attached to a single air and water hose apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: March 9, 2001Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Inventor: Fred E. Baker

Patent number: 4210068Abstract: In a home bag sealer of an integral molded and elongated box housing having an opening for supporting a roll of bag material with a rear pivoted lid on the housing to close the opening and, with a heater along the opening operative on lid closing to seal a selected size bag, there is provided an improvement in the lid assembly of a wall at each end of the opening with a bearing aperture in each wall adjacent the opening at the pivot axis. A flat wall encloses the remaining surface of the housing around the opening and an elongated slot is provided in the flat wall adjacent and parallel to each end wall opposite the opening.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1979Date of Patent: July 1, 1980Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Fred E. Patent number: 4156382Abstract: In a home bag sealer with an elongated box and lid where the box supports a roll of bag material and a heater is provided along the lid opening operative on lid closing to seal a selected size of bag, the device being provided with structure to cut the sealed bag, the invention provides an improved cutter assembly of a lengthwise slot in the lid inboard of the heater and having a pair of oppositely disposed supporting ribs contiguous along the slot substantially the length of the lid. Disposed in the slot is a removable cutter assembly supported on and spanning the ribs on each side thereof for sliding along the slot. The assembly includes a pair of facing nylon brackets each bracket having a leading edge with a narrow notch therein and a faired surface extending away from the notch. A cutter blade is located between the brackets and extends within the notch and an operating handle removably clamps the brackets above the ribs externally of the lid.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 1977Date of Patent: May 29, 1979Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Fred E. Patent number: 4116363Abstract: A cooking vessel of the type having an inner receptacle coaxially nested within a tubular housing is provided with structure for securing the inner receptacle within the tubular housing in a tamper-resistant manner and, when the inner receptacle and the housing are generally cylindrical, for preventing relative rotation therebetween. A first resiliently deformable locking member secured to the inner receptacle is deformed through an opening in a bottom wall which has a recess for receiving a second locking member. The second locking member engages the first locking member to hold the inner receptacle in its nested position within the housing, and the first locking member resiliently biases the second locking member into the recess to make removal of the second locking member relatively difficult.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1977Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Fred E. Patent number: 4107766Abstract: The invention is directed to an emergency power failure light of a multi-piece assembled housing with a safety interlock and using a bottom cup-shaped member to support electrical components with the member having protruding male prongs out the back for plugging into an AC outlet. A mid-cover is sized to nest and completely cover in the bottom member. It is open at the top and has a bottom wall to cover the electrical components, the wall also being apertured for a bulb socket with an electrical contact at the bottom. A curved reflector is mounted over the bulb in the mid cover and is carried by a lens coverplate that latches over the reflector to completely cover the mid cover and the lens and notches into the mid cover with the coverplate having a threaded socket extending through the mid cover into the assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1976Date of Patent: August 15, 1978Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Fred E. Patent number: 4039777Abstract: A glass or ceramic cooking vessel of the type commonly employed in slow cookers is provided with heating apparatus for heating the vessel in a substantially uniform manner. An electric heating element is supported in a position spaced from the vessel such that direct conduction of heat to the vessel is prevented, heat transfer means being provided to conduct heat from the heating element to the vessel over an extended portion of the vessel's outer surface.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 1976Date of Patent: August 2, 1977Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventor: Fred E.
