  • Patent number: 4506822
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and apparatus for brazing two metal members together, at least one of which is nonplanar, in a brazing furnace using a substantially pure brazing material. The method comprises the steps of utilizing a brazing fixture to hold the two metal members in tangential relation to one another along a portion of each member so that a cavity is formed adjacent to the contacting portions. A braze material is then positioned within the cavity. The braze fixture, the metal members, and the braze material are then placed in a brazing furnace. A heat shield is then placed over the braze fixture, the metal members, and the braze material to shield the braze material from direct furnace radiation. The furnace temperature is linearly increased at a rate of about 180.degree. C. per hour until a temperature of 350.degree. C. is achieved. Heat is transferred by conduction from the metal members to the braze material to cause the braze material to melt.

  • Patent number: 4295077
Abstract: An improved high power electron tube has at least one grid electrode. The grid electrode is formed from a one piece cylindrical member, closed at one end, having an outside diameter, D. The cylindrical member has a plurality of arcuate, circumferentially elongated apertures extending therethrough. Each of the apertures has a length x and a width y wherein the length x is greater than width y, and wherein the length x is not greater than 0.55 times the diameter, D, of the electrode. The width y, of each of the apertures is not greater than 0.1 times the diameter D, of the electrode.

  • Patent number: 4264843
Abstract: A magnetron includes an evacuated envelope having a sealing flange attached thereto, a filament electrode within the envelope and an anode electrode surrounding the filament electrode. One end of the filament electrode is electrically connected to a filament flange assembly. The other end of the filament electrode is connected to a filament post assembly which is insulated from the filament flange assembly. The filament flange assembly has a radially projecting, substantially flat annular sealing flange extending therefrom. The annular sealing flange of the filament flange assembly is hermetically joined to the envelope. Electrical connections to the filament electrode are made by means of a pair of substantially rectangular terminals having a flat contact surface attached to the filament flange assembly and the filament post assembly respectively.
