Publication number: 20240050670Abstract: Systems and methods for isolating and/or desiccating a portion of a drug delivery tract of a drug delivery apparatus to reduce water vapor content therein are provided. For example, there is provided a metered dose inhaler for delivering aerosolized medicament or other matter to a user. The aerosolized medicament or other matter may be discharged from a discharge passageway within the inhaler into an inhalation passageway for inhalation by a user, and the inhaler may comprise a seal member operative to selectively isolate the discharge passageway from the inhalation passageway and external environment during inactivity. The inhaler may further comprise a desiccant material arranged to withdraw moisture from the isolated discharge passageway. In other instances, desiccant material may be arranged to withdraw moisture from the discharge passageway of the inhaler without isolating the discharge passage during inactivity.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2023Publication date: February 15, 2024Inventors: Matthew Ferriter, Denny Himel, Brian Foster, Michael L. King, Dan Deaton, Fred Hamlin, Jill Sherwood, Sarvajna Kumar Dwivedi, Robert V. Sheehy, JR.

Patent number: 4936154Abstract: A transmission apparatus is disclosed herein for translating an input power force into an increased or multiple power output via power multiplier modules or units. Each module includes a pair of revolving discs lying on the same plane interconnected by a weighted link having its opposite ends pivotally coupled to each of the respective discs. The discs of each module lie in parallel and on the same turning axis as discs in the adjacent module. Discs from each module having common coaxial turning axes constitute a set and revolve in counter-rotational directions. The discs are driven by an input power source coupled to one set of discs from each module, while an output device is coupled to the other set of discs for receiving an imparted resistance force thereto. A flywheel operably couples with a selected set of discs via a clutch to provide a centrifugal additive resistance force to the output device.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 1989Date of Patent: June 26, 1990Inventor: Fred A. Patent number: 4186614Abstract: An oblique leverage transmission has a first drive shaft coupled to rotate a first bevel drive gear and first and second force transfer bevel gears in an epicyclic gear train arrangement. A second drive shaft is coupled to be rotated by a second bevel drive gear which is rotated by third and fourth force transfer bevel gears positioned about the periphery of the drive gear also in an epicyclic gear train arrangement. A first connecting rod is eccentrically coupled between the first force transfer gear and a first load transfer means movably positioned on a first inclined plane. A third connecting rod is eccentrically coupled between the third force transfer gear and the first load transfer means. Second and fourth connecting rods are eccentrically coupled between the second and fourth force transfer gears respectively and a second load transfer means movably positioned on a second inclined plane.Type: GrantFiled: August 7, 1978Date of Patent: February 5, 1980Inventor: Fred A.
