    Abstract: A furrow opener apparatus for attachment to an agricultural implement for depositing agricultural material such as seed and fertilizer in the soil. The apparatus comprises a flat disc rotatably attached to the apparatus such its axis of rotation is perpendicular to the direction of travel; a concave disc rotatably attached to the apparatus such that firstly the axis of rotation is perpendicular to the direction of travel, secondly the rear edge of the concave disc is behind the rear edge of the flat disc, thirdly the concave side of the concave disc is facing the flat disc and the outer rim of the concave disc is in close proximity to or touching the side of the flat disc; and means to introduce the agricultural material into the open area between the concave side of the concave disc and the side of the flat disc. The furrow opener requires less power to pull than present openers and penetrates un-tilled soil. A swivel mount and packer are provided for the furrow opener.
