Patent number: 11054227Abstract: A high impact strength lighted nock assembly for an arrow that is activated when the arrow is fired with a bowstring. The lighted nock assembly includes a nock molded from a high impact strength, transparent polymeric material containing at least 10% by weight reinforcing fibers. The nock includes a head configured to engage with the bowstring and a shank configured to couple with a rear end of the arrow. The shank includes a recess extending in a distal end of the shank toward the head. A light assembly including a light emitting device is located in the recess in the shank that is electrically coupled to a battery. A switch is electrically coupled to the light emitting device and the battery that is triggered when the arrow is fired to activate the light emitting device.Type: GrantFiled: December 31, 2018Date of Patent: July 6, 2021Assignee: Ravin Crossbows, LLCInventors: Craig Yehle, Fred Hunt, Larry Pulkrabek

Patent number: 10139205Abstract: A high impact strength nock assembly that couples with, and decouples from, a bushing mounted in an arrow. The forces applied to the nock during launch are translated to the arrow through the bushing, greatly extending arrow life. For lighted nock applications, the nock translates within the bushing during launch to activate the light. A battery stop is coupled to the battery and releasably coupled within the center opening of the bushing that resists longitudinal translation of the battery relative to the bushing. Consequently, the light can be deactivated without removing the lighted nock assembly from the bushing. The entire lighted nock assembly is removable from the bushing for maintenance and replacement.Type: GrantFiled: June 23, 2017Date of Patent: November 27, 2018Assignee: Ravin Crossbows, LLCInventors: Craig Yehle, Fred Hunt, Larry Pulkrabek

Patent number: 9933225Abstract: A bipod with a quick connect feature that engages with a standard rail. The bipod includes a pair legs pivotally attached at a pivot axis. A biasing mechanism is coupled to the legs that has a dead center position when the legs are in an intermediate configuration between a deployed configuration and a collapsed configuration. By shifting the biasing mechanism to one side or the other, the legs are automatically deployed to either the deployed configuration or the collapsed configuration. The biasing mechanism maintains the interface with the rail when in the deployed configuration and retains the lower portions of the legs adjacent each other in the collapsed configuration.Type: GrantFiled: February 15, 2017Date of Patent: April 3, 2018Assignee: Ravin Crossbows, LLCInventors: Craig Thomas Yehle, Fred Hunt

Patent number: 8973277Abstract: A bow sight that decouples the shooter's bow cant from elevation adjustments. A segmented support assembly includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion is configured to attach to the bow. The distal portion is rotatably attached to the proximal portion and configured to rotate around a Y-axis relative to the proximal portion. A micro-adjust controls the rotational position around the Y-axis of the distal portion relative to the proximal portion. An elevation assembly is attached to the distal portion. A bezel assembly is attached to the elevation assembly. The elevation adjustment moves the bezel assembly along a substantially vertical axis while the bow is held at a bow cant greater than zero. The micro-adjust decouples the shooter's bow cant from operation of the elevation assembly. A windage assembly is optionally located between the elevation assembly and the distal portion.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2013Date of Patent: March 10, 2015Assignee: Field Logic, Inc.Inventors: Larry Pulkrabek, Jay Engstrom, Aaron Pellett, Matthew Haas, Fred Hunt

Patent number: 8967131Abstract: An arrow rest for retaining an arrow in a shooting position on an archery bow. The arrow rest includes a structure surrounding a opening. The structure including a gap configured to pass the arrow into the opening. A gate is pivotally attached to the structure and biased to extend across the gap in a closed position. The structure completely surrounds the opening when the gate is in the closed position. A plurality of arrow supports are attached to the structure and extend radially into the opening toward the shooting position. At least one of the arrow supports is pivotally attached to the structure and biased toward the shooting position. The arrow support is biased to capture the arrow against the other arrow supports in the shooting position and to be displaced away from the shooting position when the arrow is launched from the archery bow.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2013Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: Field Logic, Inc.Inventor: Fred Hunt

Patent number: 8971959Abstract: A mounting system for attaching a mobile device having a mobile device camera and an interface to sports equipment during use of such sports equipment. The mounting system includes a cradle adapted to retain the mobile device without obstructing operation of the mobile device camera or interfering with access to the interface. A pivoting joint attaches the cradle to an extension arm that permits the cradle to be moved in pitch, yaw, and roll relative to the extension arm. One or more mounting structures are provided to pivotally attach the extension arm to the sports equipment so that the interface is oriented toward and accessible by a user of the sports equipment, and the mobile device camera is oriented to capture user's perspective during use of the sports equipment. At least one sport-specific software application is loaded on the mobile device.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2012Date of Patent: March 3, 2015Assignee: Field Logic, Inc.Inventors: Fred Hunt, Mark Wippler

Publication number: 20150042873Abstract: An adapter that optically couples a camera on a mobile device to an eye piece of an optical device. The adapter includes a base plate configured to retain the mobile device without obstructing a display screen on the mobile device. The base plate includes an optical interface configured to attach to the eye piece of the optical device. A mounting structure is configured to secure the optical interface to the eye piece of the optical device. The mounting structure includes a high friction interface that prevents rotation of the adapter relative to the eye piece. An adjustment system with threaded micro-adjust mechanisms is configured to move the base plate relative to the optical interface in at least two degrees of freedom to optically couple the camera on the mobile device with an optical axis of the eye piece. Images captured by the optical device are displayed on a viewing screen of the mobile device.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 17, 2014Publication date: February 12, 2015Inventor: FRED HUNT
