  • Patent number: 11182183
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments that utilize conflict cost for workload placements in datacenter environments. In some examples, a protected memory level is identified for a computing environment. The computing environment includes a number of processor resources. Incompatible processor workloads are prohibited from concurrently executing on parallel processor resources. Parallel processor resources share memory at the protected memory level. A number of conflict costs are determined for a processor workload. Each conflict cost is determined based on a measure of compatibility between the processor workload and a parallel processor resource that shares a particular memory with the respective processor resource. The processor workload is assigned to execute on a processor resource associated with a minimum conflict cost.

  • Publication number: 20170226618
Abstract: A floating liquid material distribution device having a plurality of apertures arranged in a grid pattern is disclosed. The device floats on top of liquid material within a container. When a person applies force to the device with an applicator, the device allows liquid material to be evenly distributed through the apertures to the application surface of the device and onto the applicator. As the liquid material is used up, the device follows the top of the surface of the liquid, and thus follows the liquid material to the bottom of the container, always a distance off the paint. Also disclosed is an actuation device that works in combination with a container lid. When the actuation device is actuated, a liquid material distribution device drops down onto liquid contained within the container.

  • Patent number: 5126648
Abstract: A positioning system for accurately positioning components and the like in which a two-dimensional linear motor moves upon an air bearing across a large platen having a predetermined grid pattern yielding reasonably good resolution. A second two-dimensional positioning assembly of extremely fine resolution is secured to the linear motor arranged to traverse the large platen. Location sensors are provided in closed loop feedback system for detecting the X and Y positions. Coarse resolution is obtained by operating the first two-dimensional linear motor and fine resolution is obtained by operating the second two-dimensional positioning assembly, preferably after disabling the air bearing. The fine positioning system may also include a driver motor for rotating a manipulator arranged upon the second positioning system to correct for any angular misalignment of the component being placed by the manipulator.
