  • Patent number: 6533612
Abstract: A connector with improved positioning structure, comprising a casing, a connector unit and a rear unit, the casing using a transverse separating plate to separate a front cover insert hole, allowing the accommodation of two joined universal serial bus USB connector unit in an upper insert hole and a lower insert hole respectively; then a longitudinal separating plate at the center of the transverse separating plate is bent inwardly and pushed closely to a depressed groove on the connector unit, to fasten the casing with the connector unit; since the casing has only insert holes exposed from the connector unit, without using screw holes in conventional models, the entire unit is capable of avoiding such problem of incorrect alignment of screw holes with connector's insert holes as can be found frequently in conventional machining process.

  • Patent number: 6494744
Abstract: A signal wire of a connector includes a housing, a connecting casing, a plug, a soft cable, and a connector. The front side of the plug is installed with two trenches. Terminals are installed in the trenches. The trenches can be inserted by a computer peripheral. The rear side of the plug is connected to the soft cable. The soft cable encloses a plurality of wires. The soft cable and the wires pass out of the round hole of the connecting casing. One end of the wire is secured to the terminal in the trench. Another end of the wire is connected to a connector. The connector can be connected to a circuit board of a computer. The soft cable is bendable so as to avoid that the plug is only inserted to one side of the circuit board. The position of the circuit board can be adjusted conveniently.

  • Patent number: 6450835
Abstract: An improved structure of a metal hood for connector is disclosed, and the hood comprises a top plate portion, side plate portion, bottom plate portion and a rear plate portion. A symmetrical L-shaped extension portion each at the two sides of the rear plate section is externally extended from the corner end of the rear plate portions. In the process of bending formation of the metal hood, the two L-shaped extension portions are exactly formed into vertically downward ground terminals of the metal hood. As the ground terminal of the housing is located at the rear plate portion of the metal hood, the method of feed-strap of plating can be employed in the process of selective plating, hence, avoiding color change of the housing as a result of proximity to a hear source.

  • Patent number: 6110251
Abstract: An improved gas filtration media with a lower initial pressure drop and increased dirt holding capacity includes a fibrous mat of randomly oriented meltblown polymeric fibers made from a polymer with between 0.2% and 10.0% by weight of: a) a nucleating agent to increase the rate of crystallization of the polymer forming the fibers and improve the heat sealability of media made from the fibers and/or b) an electrostatic charging enhancer to reduce surface tension of the polymer and inter-fiber attraction, as the fibers are cooled during formation and collection the fibers, to thereby facilitate the formation of the fibrous mat with discrete fibers. Preferably, the polymer is polypropylene, the nucleating agent is bis-benzylidene sorbitol, and electrostatic charging enhancer is a fatty acid.

  • Patent number: 5993501
Abstract: A composite filter media includes a fibrous filtration layer of randomly oriented fibers and one or more pleatable stiffening layers which enable the composite filter media to be pleated and hold or retain its pleats. The pleatable stiffening layer(s) may enhance the dirt holding capacity of the composite filter media especially when positioned upstream of the fibrous filtration layer. The composite filter media may also include a flexible covering layer which functions to block the loss of fibers from the fibrous filtration layer. Preferably, the mean fiber diameter of the fibers in fibrous filtration layer increases and the density of the fibrous filtration layer decreases throughout the thickness of the fibrous filtration layer from one major surface to the other major surface of the fibrous filtration layer.

  • Patent number: 5785725
Abstract: A composite filter media for bag or pocket filters and the like includes an upstream dirt-holding layer of fine polymeric fibers and a downstream high efficiency filtration layer of glass fibers. The upstream layer includes polymeric microfibers having a mean fiber diameter ranging from about 2.5 to about 4.5 microns, lofting fibers and binder fibers; and weighs between about 2.0 and about 7.0 grams per square foot. The glass fiber layer has a weight between about 1.2 and about 2.7 grams per square foot; the average diameter of the fibers in the glass fiber layer is within a range from 3.0.times.10.sup.-5 to 4.1.times.10.sup.-5 inches; and the fibers are bonded together at their points of intersection with a binder. The composite filter media has an average air filtration efficiency of at least 80%.

  • Patent number: 5698298
Abstract: A fibrous, non-woven thermal insulation comprises synthetic polymeric resin microfibers, staple fibers and bonding fibers which are randomly oriented and randomly intermingled in a single layer. The microfibers comprise between 0% and 95% by weight virgin synthetic polymeric resin and between 5% and 100% by weight recycled polyethylene teraphthalate. In one embodiment the microfibers have an average diameter between 1 to 10 microns and comprise between 5% and 80% by weight of the insulation; the staple fibers have an average diameter between 10 and 30 microns and comprise between 5% and 90% by weight of the insulation; and the bonding fibers have an average diameter between 0.9 and 15 denier and comprise between 5% and 95% by weight of the insulation. The bonding fibers have thermoplastic surfaces with a lower temperature softening point than the microfibers and staple fibers and bond the fibers together to form the insulation material.

  • Patent number: 4078315
Abstract: Apparatus and a method are disclosed for offering branch programming for instructional purposes. The apparatus comprises a tape player of the cassette variety, preferably having a tape index or counter. A prerecorded tape cassette carrying the program of instruction is also included. The tape has a plurality of segments of primary material recorded over corresponding spans of tape in a forward direction on a first track. A plurality of segments of supplemental material related to the primary material are recorded in a reversed direction on a second track. The primary material segments each terminate in segment-defining indicia aligned with the initiation of the corresponding secondary material segment. In use, the listener plays a primary material information segment, and then stops the tape player. If further development of the subject is desired, the listener removes the cassette, and flips it over or reverses its orientation. He then reinstalls it in and upon the tape player.

  • Patent number: 3997486
Abstract: Homopolymers and copolymers are prepared which contain side chains of Werner complexes of carboxylic acid groups coordinated with chromium. Particularly useful are such polymers with side chains provided by the homopolymerization and copolymerization of methacrylato chromic chloride complexes. These materials have many uses including as coupling agents for bonding resins to other materials.
