  • Publication number: 20040060247
Abstract: A hand rail assembly having a wood hand rail is supported on a plurality of brackets that can be premounted onto a wall. The brackets include a rail bolt threadable relative to the mounted portion of the bracket. The rail bolt has a T-shaped head that fits into a groove opening on the rail that opens to recessed groove portions. The heads of the rail bolts are arranged so that they are parallel to the groove opening, and then when the rail has been placed with the heads inside the groove opening, the rail bolts are rotated so the head fits into a recessed portions of the groove to hold the rail on the rail bolt. A nut is then used for clamping the head in position on the rail for mounting the rail securely. The rail bolt has flat spots so that a tool can be used to manipulate the rail bolt.

  • Publication number: 20020139070
Abstract: A floor covering has a plurality of extruded rigid rails that are placed side-by-side, and are held together with flexible junction members that fit into bottom opening slots in adjacent rails. Each rail also has a guide for receiving tread inserts, as shown, strips of carpeting, on an upper side thereof. The tread inserts are slid into place longitudinally under overhanging shoulders. An end cap is placed on each end of each rail for preventing the junction members and the tread inserts from moving longitudinally to keep the rails and the tread inserts in an assembly.

  • Patent number: 4903444
Abstract: A floor grating assembly is disclosed, which comprises tread rails arranged in closely spaced parallel relation and held by spacer bars. The spacer bars, which are notched, are inserted in alignment openings of preferably triangular shape in the tread rails. After insertion, the spacer bars are rotationally reoriented to a position securing the tread rails in spaced apart relation. Flange means extending along the lower edges of the spacer bars are locally deformable into locking notches formed in the alignment openings. The spacer bars are thus locked against rotation out of their operative positions. Manufacturing economies and structural improvements are realized.

  • Patent number: 4675222
Abstract: A connecting structure for sections of floor coverings such as of floor covering use in public walking areas, the connecting structure having longitudinal transversely spaced upstanding T members adapted to be retained in accomodating side vertical openings of the adjacent edge portions of floor covering sections for connection of the sections and being sufficiently flexible to bend along a longitudinal axis for a roll up of adjacent sections.

  • Patent number: 4406088
Abstract: A door bottom weather sealing structure carried as a surface mounting at the inside bottom portion of a door comprising a channel member extending the width of a door having disposed therein an extensible and retractable sealing member, the sealing member having an outward projection thereof engaging the door jamb upon the closing of the door for an automatic extension of the sealing member into floor engagement and an automatic retraction of the sealing member upon the opening of the door, the structure providing a precise adjustment of the extension of the sealing member.
