    Abstract: A temporary instrument holder having one or more lateral surface instrument holder apertures configured to receive needles therein. The lateral surface instrument holder aperture is provided in addition to a top surface instrument holder portion and is positioned in the side of the temporary instrument holder allowing sharp implements to be inserted into the lateral surface instrument holder aperture to minimize tipping of the temporary instrument holder. A portion of the implement positioned in the lateral instrument holder aperture can rest on the support surface on which the temporary instrument holder is positioned. A boundary septum is provided between the lateral surface instrument holder aperture and the instrument holder portion on the top surface to prevent passage of the needle apparatus from the need stop portion to the lateral surface instrument holder aperture to prevent an inadvertent stick or puncture the skin of a practitioner.

    Abstract: A radial artery compression device configured to be secured to a wrist or other portion of a patient to provide adjustable and consistent compression pressure in the area of a radial artery access site or other physiological portion of a patient to achieve hemostasis either during or after a medical procedure such as a percutaneous coronary procedure. The radial artery compression device includes a rotatable member and a compression pad adapted such that rotation of the rotatable member does not affect the rotational orientation of the compression pad. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a single rotation of the rotatable member results in complete extension or retraction of the radial artery compression device. According to another embodiment of the present invention, the rotation of the rotatable member results in a compounding of the extension or retraction of the compression pad relative to the body of the radial artery compression device.

    Abstract: A drainage catheter having a weld to secure the distal end of the catheter in an anchor configuration. The suture is welded into a loop at the distal end of the suture to secure the anchor configuration of the distal end of the catheter either directly or by securing the suture to a stylet positioned in the catheter wall. A plurality of drainage bores are positioned on the inside diameter of the anchor loop to provide advantageous draining of fluid into the lumen of the catheter. The drainage catheter includes a stylet and stylet lumen positioned in the sidewall of the catheter approximately 90 degrees from the inside diameter of the catheter tube and drainage allowing the drainage bores on the inside diameter of the drainage catheter to operate without obstruction from the stylet and suture.

The progressive display includes a plurality of indicia corresponding to a range of inflation pressurization values. The indicia are actuated to indicate inflation pressurization and to allow the practitioner to not only easily monitor the general intensity of the pressurization but to monitor changes in the pressurization without needing to interpret numerical values.

    Abstract: A hemostasis valve apparatus having a quick release apparatus that allows for the exchange of guidewires and other medical instruments into a patient's vasculature while controlling the flow of blood during the exchange. The quick release capability allows tools and instruments to be introduced and removed from the patient's body in a quick and efficient manner without requiring undue attention or manipulation. The quick release capability comprises a lever mechanism which selectively seals or unseals a lumen of the hemostasis valve apparatus. The hemostasis valve apparatus can include a supplemental securement valve assembly which provides a secondary mechanism to secure an instrument positioned in the hemostasis valve and/or control the flow of blood from during the procedure. According to yet another aspect, the quick release mechanism allows for access to the lumen of the hemostasis valve apparatus when the quick release mechanism is in both a released and secured position.

A diffuser having a contact surface is provided which disperses contrast media as it passes into the burette to ensure that the contrast media flows smoothly and uniformly down the wall of the burette and into the volume of contrast media. A float and seating assembly which provides optimal sealing of the outlet of the burette while also allowing separation of the float from the seat when the burette is being refilled with contrast media.

    Abstract: A reversible lockable drainage catheter for use in draining excess bodily fluid in a tissue having a catheter tube with a proximal end and a distal end, and a lockable hub positioned about the catheter tube. A suture of the drainage catheter can be reversibly tensioned, and locked in the tensioned conformation by depressing one or more surfaces of the lockable hub. The suture can then be released also by depressing one or more surface of the lockable hub, or by implementing one or more additional safety release mechanisms. For example, a safety release can be pulled in a proximal direction to release a tensioned suture. Similarly, the suture can be tensioned to a point that stretches an attachment point of the drainage catheter tube, and also causes the suture and safety release mechanism to disengage.
