  • Patent number: 8267572
Abstract: This invention relates to a method for the mechanically protective production of finely dispersed micro-/nanoemulsions with narrow droplet size distribution, whereby drops are produced on the surface of a membrane or of a filter fabric, and the drops are detached from the membrane or filter fabric surface by motion of the membrane or of the filter fabric in a first immiscible liquid phase in which pronounced stretching flow components in particular, besides shear flow components, bring about the detachment of the drops formed on the membrane surface especially efficiently and protectively. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method according to the invention with a membrane or filter unit that is positioned to move, in particular to be able to rotate, in a housing with a gap that may be eccentric toward the inner wall of the housing and/or provided with flow baffles that produce stretching flow components.

  • Patent number: 8147560
Abstract: An implant for insertion into a human or animal body which comprises at least one implant part is provided. The at least one implant part has a base member which is produced from an implant material and has a surface which is designed at least partially in the form of an artificial joint surface. Part of or the entire joint surface is covered with a wear-reducing hard material coating, such that a service life of the implant is extended and the compatibility of the implant increased. An intermediate layer is provided between the hard material coating and the at least one joint surface formed from the implant material for the purpose of reducing tension between the hard material coating and the implant material. A corresponding method for production of an implant is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20090210068
Abstract: In order to improve an implant for insertion into a human or animal body which comprises at least one implant part, wherein the at least one implant part has a base member which is produced from an implant material and has a surface which is designed at least partially in the form of an artificial joint surface, wherein part of or the entire joint surface is covered with a wear-reducing hard material coating, such that a service life of the implant is extended and the compatibility of the implant increased, it is suggested that an intermediate layer be provided between the hard material coating and the at least one joint surface formed from the implant material for the purpose of reducing tension between the hard material coating and the implant material. Furthermore, an improved method for the production of an implant for insertion into a human or animal body is suggested.

  • Publication number: 20080248320
Abstract: The invention refers, among others, to a PVD method for the coating of elements made of titanium or titanium alloy to prevent cold welding. This method includes at least the following steps: a) positioning the elements in a recipient, b) application of a vacuum, c) deposition of a first metal or a first metal alloy in nitrogen and acetylene atmosphere, d) deposition of a second metal or a second metal alloy in nitrogen and acetylene atmosphere, e) repetition of steps c) and d) until a sufficient layer thickness is achieved, f) ventilation of the recipient, g) removal of the elements from the recipient, h) purification of the elements with a suitable cleansing bath.
