    Abstract: Described are systems and methods for locating a user at an event. According to various embodiments of the methods, authorization is received from the user to locate the user at the event. A radio frequency identification (RFID) tag of the user is tracked if the user is unavailable for instant messaging communication. An instant message communication directed to the user is received. A determination is made that a second user has a predetermined relationship with a sender of the instant message and determining that a communication device of the second user detects the RFID tag of the user. A communication is sent comprising a message for the user to the communication device of the second user.
