Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to interfacing a plurality of user manipulable input devices with a host device using a more simplified and convenient setup for the user. In one embodiment, a system of user manipulable devices for interfacing with a host device comprises a first user manipulable device which is configured to be operatively connected with the host device to interface with the host device to transfer data between the first user manipulable device and the host device and produce sensory feedback to a user. A second user manipulable device is configured to interface wirelessly with the first user manipulable device to transfer data between the second user manipulable device and the host device via the first user manipulable device and produce sensory feedback to the user. The first user manipulable device and the second user manipulable device are manipulable by the same user.

Abstract: A roller is provided in an input device such as a joystick to perform functions that compliment its operation. Upon detecting rotational movement of the roller in a first direction by a preset angle, a first signal is generated for activating a first logical button. Upon detecting rotational movement of the roller in a second direction by a preset angle, a second signal is generated for activating a second logical button. Roller rotation by multiples of the preset angle represents a series of button presses. The button press may be assigned a function such as selecting an item from a menu or adjusting attributes of objects or data displayed on a computer screen, such as the selection or firing of weapons or adjustment of shield balance in a video game application.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a device and a method of supporting a game controller such as a steering wheel without mounting it to a stable physical structure such as a desk or table. The game controller is supported on a lap attachment device which is clasped between the left thigh and the right thigh of the user to provide adequate support needed for the desired game playing experience. In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, a game controller lap attachment device comprises a base having a left side and a right side, which are configured to be clasped by a left thigh of a user on the left side of the base and a right thigh of the user on the right side of the base. A game controller support is connected with the base and is configured to support a game controller thereon to be operated by the user.
